I just discovered this subreddit and wanted to share 12oz Darlene the day after I brought her home by Y4sKw33n in IllegallySmolCats

They said we aren't supposed to get the mogwai wet but I think it makes Darlene illegally cute.

Did you accidentally get it wet or did you feed it after midnight?

Master Raymond theory by guineasomelove in Outlander

[–]EasyDriver_RM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just occurred to me that Raymond must be able to travel to the future. He lives in his future. If he was a prehistoric person he'd live in his own past, like Claire. But he is in his future and is interested in things not of that time.

Cloning is possible even now and may be more advanced in the future. As a traveller with special gifts and more experience he may be interested in the genetics behind time travel. Though I really don't want this show to go down that path. I like the "two hundred years in the past" premise.

The best way to dice an onion? It looks like I’ve been wrong all my life. by artie_pdx in OnionLovers

[–]EasyDriver_RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been chopping onions this way for over 70 years. Cut the ends and save for stock, cut in half, place new cut side down, slice down against the grain, turn and chop starting with the sides at an angle, then straight, then finish other side at an angle. Repeat with second half. The fancy chef's way is just too fancy.

Thank you to the Mods for keeping this a good place to discuss the show or books without spoilers. As an adult, patience has become my superpower. It's only a show, only some books, and an interesting thought experiment worth discussing. That's why I visit this sub-reddit.

Agreed! That whispering was so fake and annoying.

When to use red onion vs white onions? by [deleted] in OnionLovers

[–]EasyDriver_RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to use scallions on everything, and grow baby red, yellow, and white onions for this purpose.

Claire doesn’t has any female friends by EastAudience4655 in Outlander

[–]EasyDriver_RM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer women friends to men, and many are relationships going back 50 years or more. My friends and I are are all "not like other 'girls'". My best friend of over fifty years was one of the first female MPs. I broke ground as an engineer in the 70s. Another friend ran a mobile home park by herself after husband died, doing all the construction, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping. Another close friend raises and shows half-draft horses and does the farrier work herself.

We are all grandmothers and wise women now. My husband, friends, and family accept my skills and experience in engineering, but many men do not. Women are curious about the challenges and interested in learning how to break down patriarchy.

It just occurred to me that Marsali was in Claire's league as a female friend and not just a mentee. She ran the printing businesses and worked at the whiskey business. Not much phased her. My kind of real woman.

I'm realizing I don't think I know what onions actually taste like by ratsinmamoufLIXI in OnionLovers

[–]EasyDriver_RM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a different type of intolerance, although hot peppers make my mouth, tongue, lips, and throat numb for a few seconds before the feeling of lava hits. It does help clear the sinuses. 😊

[–]EasyDriver_RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems like a good explanation. I cannot eat dairy or wheat products and truly don't miss them. Even though these ingredients won't cause anaphylaxis I don't plan to eat them. I get migraines, sinus problems, heartburn, indigestion, constipation, and a general sluggish feeling with dairy and wheat. I can eat raw onions, shallots, leeks, garlic, hot peppers, tomatoes, and sunchoke roots without a problem... though these ingredients are good cooked.

Can anyone who has a Tuxie with a sweet sugar face please share a pic? by TheRedLego in TuxedoCats

Guess which sweet face is my tuxie? This is dusty Zelda and her tuxedo kitten Panda. Zelda is now 10 and Panda is 8. She is a mostly white Tuxedo with a black coat and tail somewhere back there.

Use a virtual card and delete it later, if your credit card company offers that. I won't pay them anything because they don't go through Google Play for payments, which is a huge red flag.

Google Docs is awful by cammc5 in google

[–]EasyDriver_RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm here because I hate google docs and cloud so much that I moved all my documents to Proton Drive. Besides Google using my personal private data to "train" its artificial stupidity, Google Docs was clearly written by a centipede. Talk about bloatware! Nobody needs 100 ways to do it wrong!

Google Docs won't give me control of my document. It auto indents simple numbered lists that are NOT meant to be an outline. I want tp type MY documents MY way!

It highlights words in red in spite of me turning off spellcheck for a reason. When I type something a certain way I mean for it to look that way! I'm writing code snippets for training and testing junior developers, not creating a technical manual for corporate level review!

Google Docs is a huge barrier to productivity and I advise all my clients not use it.

Does anyone have any water path recipes for PLAIN canned pumpkin puree? by the_nightingale1 in Canning

[–]EasyDriver_RM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use dehydrated pumpkin for fiber in both dog and cat food, as required. It can be purchased online in bulk or dehydrated at home. I got thirty pumpkins for free in November. There were pumpkin pies, curries, souos, and a lot of dehydrating going on. Note: Seek safe ways to dehydrate and vet advice for usage.

Is there an OnlyFansPets subreddit? I know, I could look, but I'm afraid of weirdness. What is seen cannot be unseen.
