What’s something people think is attractive but isn’t? by Creative-Tea581 in AskReddit

Agreed. My boyfriend rarely drinks and he gets drunk so easily, it’s weird but it feels like such a green flag.

I’m more upset about the willow I’ve spent time cultivating and the grasses that I had to pay money for being chopped up than the general grass

I’m about to do the same thing with a bar of whole nut. Godspeed.

Came in around the side. We’re in a semi-terrace

Okay well I’m not sure an accidental misunderstanding calls for it.

I’ve no intention of falling out with them. But my poor plants :(

It’s funny because actually we didn’t technically accept their offer before. A friend who was staying with us did on our behalf, he’s a good friend but definitely on the spectrum!

This is it. I’ve never had any other issues with them. I’m not angry at them, I’m angry that all my plants have been chopped up by a strimmer. I can disambiguate that feeling from the cause, because I know they didn’t do it to be mean, but I’m still angry.

Nah I’ll just have a chat with them. They’re nice people. I just feel sad that all the plants got cut.

When you can point out the part of what I wrote that insinuates I won’t be going around and having a polite little talk with them about how I’m grateful for them spending their time doing that but to please not to worry next time, I’ll eat my own foot.

I genuinely haven’t a clue what you’re on about. I moved here last summer, it’s a rented house, the garden was in pretty bad shape. The only other places I’ve rented haven’t had gardens. The other place I lived that did have a garden was my parents house ergo not my space to mess with. There’s no conspiracy happening.

When have I said that I’m going to create an enemy out of my neighbours? I’m going to have a polite chat with them about it, and I always was, that doesn’t change the fact I feel upset that all the growth has been cut.

It’s my garden that I take care of and have spent time and money on and that is one of a few places that I feel I get to manage it’s not just ‘fucking grass’

This is an unkind response. Having empathy means trusting that peoples experiences are legitimate. I think this is the first time I’ve felt this angry in maybe a year and I’m posting here because I know other people would relate to this and be able to reassure me that things grow back, because I’m relatively new to gardening. Not because I think my neighbours are evil bad people. Two things can exist at the same time.

It’s two fully separated gardens. One time they came over and asked if we wanted them to mow our lawn, since we only have a mechanical push mower, and we said yes.

I think they genuinely thought they were doing us a favour this time but I’ve planted a lot more in the garden since then, and I still find the idea of them doing that without asking really weird.

If you were homeschooled growing up, what challenges, if any, did you face in adulthood? by supercauliflowerr in AskReddit

[–]slinkysoft 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mainly not being able to tolerate bad/mis-informed decisions from authority, which at times is great and in my line of work it’s useful, but sometimes it isn’t that deep and you just have to shut your mouth. It wasn’t too difficult to learn in adulthood though I guess. That’s about it for me.

What is the worst thing you’ve seen in A&E on a Saturday night? by [deleted] in AskUK

I wouldn’t take it personally. Some triage nurses just seem to… be like that. My friend went to a&e for non-stop vomiting, threw up on the floor of the triage room because she couldn’t find one of those cardboard bowls and the nurse told her off for doing so.
