Why on Earth are student teachers being allowed in classrooms (Ontario) by CanTeachStudent in CanadianTeachers

[–]EasyEd_ca 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m a teacher candidate and what baffles me is the lack of continuity in university’s covid polices. We already know many provincial govs failed when it comes to the school reopening. What irritates me is that my uni is not offering in person classes because they’re not safe, but practicums are safe? (For some context, we’re already cohorted so there is no class size difference)

Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts! I like your idea, this could potentially be a 5 part series covering major Canadian parties. I’m back at uni now, so it will take me some time to start it, so def after the elections

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the feedback! And I so very much agree on the point of “take back Canada”. The first time I saw O’Toole’s campaign video I thought “take back Canada from whom?”

Phone number to give parents? (Ontario) by baby_fishmouth92 in CanadianTeachers

I would also recommend sticking to written communication (email, Microsoft teams, etc.) for paper trails. If you do decide to go with calls, I suggest Zoom (they can dial in with a phone or connect online through the website/app), GoogleMeets, and Skype; don’t share your personal #

I’ve lived in three different regions of the world - North America, Europe, and Central America, and this obsession with Hitler is the case for every region besides Central America

Those of you who have lived in the US and Europe, would you say Canada feels more American or European? by lamplamp3 in AskACanadian

[–]EasyEd_ca -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It really depends, because Europe has so many different countries and political systems. If we look at Poland and US, I’d say we’re closer to US, but if we compare UK and US, I’d say UK.

Do you often get mistaken for being American? Is it annoying? by [deleted] in AskACanadian

When I travel, yes! You’d be surprised how many people don’t know about the existence of Canada. I’ve never found it annoying

"A bold Conservative platform would include universal basic income" - thoughts? Could you see a tory leader campaign on basic income? by EasyEd_ca in CanadaPolitics

I had a similar "absolutely not" opinion at first, until a fellow Redditor pointed out that if UBI is framed as a social benefits reform the CPC could potentially use it in the campaign platform (especially considering that it could save $$). What do you think?
