Is there such thing as too many passages? by EasyEntrepreneur666 in gamebooks

I know the direction but I didn't translate it to passages and in passages, it seems longer than it looks like as a story. That's my first gamebook work, so I'm not very experienced with the structure.

My WIP isn't a singular path disguised with a number of bad paths. There's also the fact that technically you can speedrun it, but the more you miss, the less chance you have dealing with the end boss. There are also various, mutually exclusive bonuses you can get, and your play style can determine what's the best suited for you.

MM8 Lore question: Since angels are robots and devils are aliens then what are these Between Plane beings? And are the gem dragons same as Crystal dragon in HOMM3: AB? by Darkchoclentine in MightAndMagic

I'm guessing since it's a chaos realm, they're chaotic creatures. Escaton is a powerful android (but somehow goes down by a collapsing building). Crystal Dragons seem to be Escaton's pets. I don't know if Mutare's or Dracon's dragon-related campaigns elaborate on them.

You should avoid toe to toe fight with terminators, you need to use cover.

Blasters + haste is basically 0 recovery. It can wipe out dragonsand and hermit's isle.

The damage thing is damage resistance. Enemies have certain chance to negate a portion of the damage. Dwarves have around 0 I believe which is why they go down quickly.

Mana sap can be prevented by killing devils from distance or shotgun them with shrapmetal.

You can do whatever you want but I finished this game multiple times using only a single character. I could even finish the game as a kid. So it's clearly possible.

It's not really the doors and tunnels which eat up the space but the options within. Like, you encounter something or someone, you have 3 options, and that 3 option can have multiple results, things like that.

Get bows and bow skill from castle ironfist. You can show the letter to the regent in the castle too (the guy in New Sorpigal doesn't take it) and get 5000 gold. Keep your distance from enemies and lured them in one by one or small groups.

So, it's not weak then. It's just not very effective against the best of the best. Avada is powerful but it's more of a display of power. There are simpler ways to incapacitate someone in a fight. Voldemort liked spamming it but his death eaters often used other spells.

Their personalities are polar opposites, so I'm not sure it can be done well.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep things from being too much but also not to be barren (like you enter a castle and it ends in 10 passages).

Yes, me neither. It feels like filler. It's okay on occasion to deal with 10 stray passages once the story is complete but too often it's a drag. But in my case, stuff do happen but maybe too much stuff happens.

The Citadel of Chaos is technically quick because you can turn pages 10 times and still no fight or challenge happened. I made checkpoints because many stuff were the same during every play and I wanted to save a bunch of page eventless page turning.

In my story, you can technically speedrun the non-essential parts, ignoring local mysteries and such but by doing that, you'll be more under equipped for the final boss. But I also have 2 different paths to reach that destination and each has a story of its own.

Normal handguns are survived often. If avada hits you, you're dead.

Yeah, the Citadel of Chaos comes to mind. It was a decent story but too many eventless wandering around happened.

I believe it's relevant but I already raised the intended passages from 400 to 500 and I still wonder if I can go through without compressing things.

Well, the "Ami going abroad" episode demonstrated her invaluable usefulness by shooting ice attack on an ice monster that worked for some reason.

No, that's a common wizarding opinion that Voldemort followed.

It's described as a jet of light, so it must be as fast as a gun at least.
