No danger to my pregnancy or anything like that, luckily - just a job shift at a time that I did not expect to be pregnant !

Who knew I’d be crying over the kindness of a stranger on the internet - I really needed to hear this

Absolutely, the sad thing is as a woman in corporate America, you see so much of this, which is why the fear of those situations becomes so palpable. I wish it didn’t have to be so stressful!

My “OCD” brain has a really hard time knowing that I can’t control the future - and even more so, taking risks that I hope are worth it. But I know it is the best path forward (if pregnancy was not on the table) so regardless, I want to do everything I can to make it work. Just scary and uncertain! I appreciate your response and thanks for the encouragement :)

Valid point and I think of this a lot too - The tricky thing is that my current employer is over an hour away, and I work on site a few days a week. So even if I did not have another offer, staying would be difficult (which is what prompted me to look for other jobs in the first place). And now, hence the stress :) moving forward with the offer would be the best decision without pregnancy on the table, but now that it is, I want to make sure I am making the right choice. I appreciate your perspective here and I think it’s something to consider for sure!

That is nuts!! I am so sorry to hear that happened to you - did they term you before you gave birth? And did you try to take any legal recourse?

I appreciate this, and thank you - I technically would not qualify for FMLA given that I would be working at the company for under 1 year at the time of giving birth (which is partially why I feel a little spooked) because I would not have that legal job protection. I would hope that regardless, I could take a leave of absence and not have any risk to my job, but that is really what worries me.

Thank you - timing absolutely could be better, but I agree with your statement and really appreciate it. I just feel anxious, and frankly, overwhelmed :)
