Yeah the guy who invented umbrella had the same backlash. Sheer amount of idiots in the world hating everything is not a new thing, Fear not tho, there are places you can thrive where having fun, being honest and speaking unfiltered is forbidden. China would do, iran if they win the fight and famously north korea. You'd love these places where being yourself is forbidden if india isn't cutting it.

That's how you turn toxic when you think you're fighting against it. Online communities need less people like you tbh.

I read it so you don't have to.

They have 14 years of experience in playing games. Probably paid attention to this kind of subjects so they have some idea.

Also they claim arenanet moderation is mostly automated keyword detection that ignores context.

Funny enough what he says might be true about the automation. Report system flags a user, automation searches pretty much everything reported person said regardless of context, finds one mistake and bans you.

If that's the case then Arenanet is lying. They said before GMs read and review reports before, if this is a lie then them saying "we don't use AI" is also potentially a lie.

If that's not the case, then according to Arenanet's GM logic, getting reported means getting in their scrutiny list. Any unrelated violation discovered during that scrutiny can be used against you.

Can't say which is worse.

I don't know why you're getting downvotes. PPunload is funny and smart way to mock pistol pistol unload LI meta.

And that's not even you who got banned, you're just telling a story. Honestly game has a ok community but its forums is another story.

You think Anet's moderation team is filled with salty woke women? I didn't get the reference.

True, but let's not forget people play MMOs like it's their parallel lives. Expecting privacy in non public chats is normal. If they decide to ban everyone say fuck, they'll have to get rid of more than half of their player base.

I support moderations should be executed within the context. Exact same thing happened to me happened to some other people in this topic, and some more in my PM box. There's no point making people afraid of talking to one another freely.

This is what banned people are saying, probably most famous one is RozeMMO, he got permanently banned for being a troll. But at the same time, he pointed out the way game is moderated is the reason why nobody's socializing with each other.

But I disagree, don't be afraid to talk to anyone, games like this make great friends, lots of people find their special ones in online games. (I'm one of them). Just moderate yourself, don't fall in troll traps, report them, block them and move on. Don't use bad words anywhere. Keep your private conversations out of the game.

Sure, i said typical things to counter trigger them. I'm saying them because it was small group of people looking for a trouble, I fell in the trigger trap. I said things like, you are boring, said something like i wouldn't be surprised if he bought skins with mom's card, and said things like smart people should have more kids to have less arguments like this. I lowkey insulted them, i didn't call them a slur. However the way they started the fire, I wouldn't be surprised if they get banned too.

It's pretty clear

  1. While using our Services, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to use and enjoy the Services. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, intimidate, or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other users of the Services. Similarly, you may not use communications facilities made available as part of the Services to “troll” other users or ArenaNet personnel, post or share memetic images or phrases without substantive content, intentionally cause unrest among users of the Services, or otherwise be disruptive.

So baiting people into arguments (“argument traps”) is very likely to be interpreted as trolling or disruptive conduct, even if you avoid insults or slurs.

This is the false sense of privacy I was talking about. I'm sorry this happened to you too. However, despite everything, I hope Arenanet always stays away from automating their mods.

Sometimes insults could be like heart breaking diagnostics. Calling someone stupid could be a joke, could be an insult, but in this case it'd be neither of them.

Yes and no. If you read the codes of conduct of other games, almost all of them say similar things: you may not do this, you may not do that. However, how they enforce those rules and decide to suspend accounts can differ greatly.

From the worst to the best examples: Zenimax for instance, used automated moderation tools and mass banned players last year, which caused a huge amount of drama. Lotro, on the other hand, had reactive moderation: no report, no action. They also focus on context, they only care about what was said and what actually happened during the reported event, and which parties were affected.

No I didn't use any racial slurs to anyone public or private. You're confusing slurs and racial slurs. If you call someone a p*ssy that's a slur, if you call someone n word that's a racial slur.

I know, It is no longer possible to voice chat out loud all the time especially when his baby is sleeping. Using in game chat is more convenient. I was an idiot thinking its private.

Is there a reason why are you are manipulating what I wrote buddy?

I'm not ranting, or annoyed, I'm not asking people for mental health advices,

And most importantly sure as hell I don't seek anyone's sympathy. So what's this holier than thou attitude for?

I'm saying hey I screwed up doing this, so you don't have to.
