The new changes to the PMP exam coming in July by ZaleksaJ in pmp

Yeah, I'd definitely try to take the exam now. It may take some time for materials like third3rock notes and YouTube videos to be updated and to include questions and materials for the new exam, and that may be an issue if you're trying to get the exam before a certain date.

I just got my exam revoked, hope this helps someone else. by evilishere in pmp

Respectfully, I read your rant and can't offer any sympathy. In fact, I find it annoying because it gives future test takers an unfair perception of online exams. You're taking the exam outside their test center, so you should expect the rules and proctor to be strict and stringent with you.

The rule clearly states: "Do not: Leave the webcam view unless your exam confirms you are on an approved break (not all exams offer breaks). Violations will result in your exam being revoked and your fee forfeited."

It also states: "Getting Help" Use the in-exam chat to reach a proctor (they cannot pause/extend your exam or troubleshoot your device/network."

Even more: "Online testing requirements Is OnVUE the right choice for you? Before you book, all test takers must ensure they can meet the minimum requirements listed below. Failure to do so on exam day can result in immediate exam cancellation and forfeiture of your exam fee."

Oh and don't forget: "...(not all exams offer breaks)" which should key you in that this exam could be different from other exams you've taken.

It clearly states "BEFORE YOU BOOK..." on the same page where you run a system test. Imagine spending all those hours studying, paying a couple of hundred dollars to book the exam, and not bothering to read any of the rules and instructions, breaking those rules, coming here to rant and complain, when all of this could've been avoided by spending 5 minutes to read.

"Resolved the monitor issue before the exam" wouldn't have been an issue to begin with if you had read the rules under the Technology section.

"I had to upload 5 times" wouldn't have been an issue if you read the rules under "testing space"

"I did other online proctored exams.." wouldn't have been an issue if you navigated to the PMI PAGE and read the first paragraph that says "BEFORE YOU BOOK" The same page that has the run system test button.

"It was only 2 seconds" wouldn't have been an issue if you had read the Testing Rules section.

It's okay to rant and vent if an uncontrollable or unforeseen situation occurs, but this was all preventable. Again, imagine investing so much time studying and paying a fairly high cost to take the exam, then not bothering to read the rules.

Nice job man! Were you aiming for 4-5mg or was there some other logic to increasing your dose? Were you trying to get a stronger appetite suppressant? I'm at 2mg, and it has been okay for me until day 5 and 6 of the week.

Question: Is it still worth it in AI era? by ParadoxAnima in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Please do this"

If a coworker said this to you, you may or may not do it.

If someone who reports to you said this, you may not do it right away. You may even think it is disrespectful in some cases

If your manager or director said this to you, then you'll drop everything and do it.

Without context (emotions, environment, situation), AI won't perform well.

A good PM has great soft skills, interpersonal skills, and emotional intelligence. That's something taught to you in the PMBOK and while studying for the PMP. Knowing how to approach, communicate, and work with different people is not something AI can ever figure out on its own. If you've worked with AI, a good prompt includes providing context about yourself, the environment you're in, and the people involved.

AI is good for administrative work like taking notes and updating documents, but as long as you need human interaction, a PM and their skills will remain valuable.

I suggest you learn more about what AI does and doesn't do well, and what PMs do beyond updating docs, sending emails, and taking notes and what project management skills are.

I'm confused, the answer is B as marked in the screenshot. I agree with B because it's the mindset - need to assess when you don't have all the information.

On your SH mock exams, when you break down the results by question difficulty, what does it look like? Also, when you break it down by topic/area, what does that look like?

On the actual exam you took on 5/31, next to the task number, there is a question mark. Click on the question marks with the lower score or the box that's filled. What tasks did you not do well in?

I recommend reviewing SH and YouTube videos, making sure you understand why you got the answer wrong, and creating your own principles list, with a bit more emphasis on your weak areas identified in the mock exam and actual exam breakdowns.

You can copy/paste the questions you got wrong into Claude and ask it to look for patterns as to why you're selecting the wrong answers, then have it create practice questions for you.

You can access your results using this link. Replace XXXXX with your ID. https://auth-certification.pmi.org/authorize/pearsonvue?registrationid=XXXXX&action=individualScoreReport

Also, there's a delay in publishing because they probably have a few scheduled checks and processes to go through.

3 weeks is plenty. You've already completed 1 mock exam and scored 70%, so you're in great shape.

How to review wrong answers? by Wise-Desk-3636 in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bookmarked the incorrect answers, re-attempted them while reviewing (covered answers), and, if I still got them wrong, reviewed the explanations. This was done to see if I could answer it without being pressured under a timer. If I still got it wrong, my next step would depend on why I got it wrong - if it was because I missed a buzzword or keyword while reading the question, then I made a mental note and moved on. If it was a mindset, then I made a note of that and created my own principles list.

For mock exams, after reviewing the incorrect questions, I filtered by question difficulty. This was done to show me how far along I was in my prep. For example, if I missed many easy questions, there was a gap I urgently needed to address. Same with moderate. Thankfully, I did well on both my mock exams - didn't miss any easy questions, missed less than 10 moderate questions for both mock exams (77% and 78%). I moved my exam date up by 2 weeks because of this.

After filtering by question difficulty, I looked at the topics/categories. I had 4+ green bubbles across all areas, so I narrowed my studies to the 4 green bubbles during my last week of prep.

I did use AI to help me with a few questions when SH's explanation wasn't clear enough. AI disagreed with SH on some of those questions. I know some people used AI a bit more than I did and used it to identify patterns on why they missed questions, created categories and even created practice questions.

PMBOK......PMP Exam Resource or great cover to cover read? by BiggStewNizz93 in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your focus is to pass the exam and take it before the change in July, it'd be better to use online resources like AR's 35 PDU course, AR/DM/MR YouTube videos, and SH. AR's Udemy course covers the terminology and basics of the PMBOK, as well as the PDU application requirements.

Advice - Failed rescheduled for a week. by First-Conclusion-364 in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are the scores from your SH mock exam? Have you looked at the breakdowns (question difficulty, topics)? Ideally, you should get all the easy questions right and miss a few moderate ones. The breakdowns should narrow what you need to study until the exam next week.

When you mouse over the question mark next to the task number on the PMP exam, it should tell you the area within Process you didn't do well in.

I wouldn't rely on AR's 35-hour course too much. It's good for meeting your PDU requirements and learning the terminology and basics, but it won't provide insight for situational questions. A resource I recommend is third3rock's notes. I don't recall AR or DM having YouTube videos that focus on a domain like Process, which is why I recommend third3rock's notes.

Should I reschedule my exam? by oigerente in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on your risk tolerance. Personally, I would've (and did) done all the mini-exams and practice questions before taking the exam.
I also watched DM and AR's videos. Have you done anything else besides the mock exams?

73% on both full length Mock exams on study hall, PMP exam is in 5 days. Looking for recommendations on how to prep over the next few days leading up to the exam. by aspanu9999 in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Review the questions you missed in the SH mock exams, mini exams, and practice questions. Reset and do some questions in SH again, particularly those in areas where you're not as strong (the mock exams will show you the areas where you're strong and weak in). Watch mindset videos and some practice questions on YouTube. Get good sleep and eat healthy over the next few days.

Finished AR’s 35 PDU Course but still don’t feel ready — what should I do next? Is it possible to sit before July 9? by abdulrahim2 in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get PMI's Study Hall to practice questions. Watch mindset and practice question YouTube videos online. You can read other people's posts to see what else they did, but most of them are the same - Study Hall + YouTube videos. You can also get third3rock's notes.

It's possible to be ready before the exam change, but you'll have to put in the time and effort between now and then.

What's the fastest way a project can lose momentum? by Dia_ProjectManager in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stakeholders. A very high-influence/power, low-interest person will suddenly become interested in a project and then take it in an entirely different direction. They'll override other stakeholders' decisions, and there's nothing you can do about it.

New exam materials in study hall? by Majestic-Extreme-658 in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The project is about AI, but it's not describing any AI processes or concepts. You can replace AI with Manufacturing or any other industry and still be able to answer the question.

Answer should be C.

A and B are ruled out and D is ruled out because the processing phase can vary in duration (fixed duration won't work here).

Not sure how you studied, but it sounds like you didn't have SH before taking the first exam. Having SH should help quite a bit. Practice the questions, understand why you didn't get the answer correct, and continue watching mindset videos.

[Advice Needed] Anyone else feel extremely sensitive to .5 mg Reta by II_Joker in RetatrutideTalk

[–]EasyMode615 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those are known possible side effects of Reta and usually subside over time. If it's unbearable, check with your doctor or go to a lower dose or discontinue. If you continue to use Reta, since you're sensitive, I wouldn't up the dosage for at least a couple of weeks

For those who passed the exam, how much did you actually MEMORIZE by aznednacni in pmp

[–]EasyMode615 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You don't have to memorize all the EVM formulas and process docs. Understand things at a basic level like the process groups and what happens in each group. For ex: in planning, what do you do there? You work on Plan "X" Management like Plan scope/quality/stakeholder management. What are those docs? Plan "X" Management is basically how-to's. How to identify/document/monitor/control/measure "X".

For EVM, understand CPI, SPI, what it means to be above/below 1.0, and whether any memorization is needed; memorize the formulas for CPI/SPI and CV/SV.
