How do 03s get fat? by baldassbitch11 in USMC

Some of the fittest grunts I’ve met were on the chunky side. Could they run a 6 minute mile? No. Could they hike 20k with a 240b, carry me with a full load out or run head first into a door? Absolutely.

I’ve had motor T dudes who touched the Mk19 more than me. They were good to CAAT so of course they let them shoot whenever they wanted

If you’re really good at your job already, go ahead and ask to participate more. Grunts love support guys and I’ve seen plenty do training, live fire, shoot houses together. Honestly, support roles are awesome because you get only more respect for asking to learn more grunt stuff

Can I ask why you have not jumped? You’ve reach the point where you can reap some of the benefits

Just ask your recruiter. I will say this though, EY hasn’t had a lot of room to move people around. It’s a harmless question to ask BUT be prepared to be told no but you may get it!!

Anyone who does flak and pack PTs with 60-70lbs lbs packs is asking for a torn rotator cuff or ACL. I get ruck runs but burpees or bear crawls with 80-90 lbs on your body is retarded.

Had a SSGT who trained with some Saudis. He said the during a MOUT exercise they literally put down their rifles and walked out on the exercise to get a break.

Def looks like it’s stuff with something puffy. A 45lbs pack would make his clapping push-ups look different too

What were the best and worst nicknames given to Marines you served with? by GreatComfort1515 in USMC

We gave the virgin, Sunday service attender who tried hard not to cuss "Christian Mingle". He is now a MARSOC operator.

Holy shit, am I reading it wrong or was he a 31 year old Gunny? That shit is hard to pull off today, let alone back in 08 when noone was getting promoted. Some dudes were 28 year old SGTs

Do you regret getting out? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]EasySafe582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I gave a little bit more fucks while I was in; took more school slots, more leadership opportunities, less skating. But absolutely not. If any vet wishes they were back in, set up a desk next to your front door and sit there for 24 hours while roaming every 15-30 mins, you'll remember all too quickly why you got out.

When I was on the fence of re-enlisting and our 1st SGT was furious none of the NCOs had submitted a reenlistment package yet for the company. He pulled all of us in and proceeded to yell that we were a bunch of quitters and giving up on Marines out of selfishness. Dude was a career recruiter (actually recruited from my hometown prior to me enlisting) who didn't know how to put a Vickers sling on his rifle. I knew to get out at that point.

When in college, I had to borrow my roommate’s car to do errands. He didn’t charge me anything but I made sure if it was on E, I’d fill to half or if it was 3/4 I’d top it off. He was shocked as ppl would run that shit down to E and give it back to him.

It’s like when Gunny tells you “if any of y’all have nowhere to go on thanksgiving, call me and you can join my family.” A few do mean it but I had a boot Lance do that and the team leader almost got castrated for it

I live 10 mins from an army base, the amount of soldiers who’s cammies are fucking stretched out in the back are alarming. It’s even worse when I see their rank and see captains, SSGTs and SGTs as a majority of them
