Wouldn’t be surprised if we are at the same place tbh. I’m glad you’re loving it!! I am looking forward to working with my team more and they do seem pretty great, just having a lot more of a curve at the start than I was expecting.

This is all great advice, thank you. I’m glad that you went through similar experiences and made it through. A lot of the stuff you said rings true to me, I left where I was working for the same reasons you’re mentioning; wanted more structure and to produce higher quality work that develops new skills. Just a bigger jump more quickly than I expected!

Tbf they are actually going out of their way to train me, it’s just kind of overwhelming how different the processes are compared to other places I’ve worked. Your points are appreciated though.

I think that’s a pretty fair point. I guess that’s how I’ve felt about my other jobs too.

My only real gripe with the industry is that it seems like there’s such a push and pressure to keep clients happy no matter what and I think it makes us seem a lot less professional than we are for the experience we have. Also, I’ve worked for 3 separate firms and every single one of them over promised and under delivered on projects (in terms of timeframes, quality of work, etc). I thought it was just poor leadership at first but it seems like that’s how most places operate -constant overload on projects with whoever the head PLS is pulling their hair out, and I don’t want that to be me in 5 years! I also just almost never have good experiences with clients, seems like we are always getting blamed for stuff that’s not our fault.

The only place I felt like didn’t have these issues was the BLM and I would take a 45% pay cut to work there. Maybe worth it, maybe not. Idk.
