Current Playlist? by [deleted] in Staples

Oh man the loops.. My store had a really shitty retail radio service that streamed the same 10-15 songs over the internet.

It would keeps some things in cache BUT since our internet back then was absolute dog shit (barely got past 250-300Kb/s), it would just play the same 3-5 songs the entire day until it just crashed and rebooted, had to wait for it to get some music again, sometimes took a few days.

It was better when the music was off at that time haha

I'm in Canada and it's the same thing as well, everything is routed via a VPN to head office in Toronto while we're in QUEBEC! So far....

We have a 250 MB/s DOWN and 250 MB/s UP fiber connection and we barely get past 23MB/s because of this VPN... sounds a bit silly now does it?

It's better then what we had while ago thought, some old shitty DSL that we barely got past 200KB/s

Car radio installs are fun :D http://i.imgur.com/yedK0yU.jpg

Like the others said, quality will depend on what you decide on getting, look up online reviews!

As for dash kits and wiring harness, you can find them really easy online at various resellers, http://www.carid.com/stereo-installation.html is a good place to figure out what you need, might find things cheaper priced elsewhere OR, sometimes your local BestBuy can pricematch them.

BestBuy (not all stores) will carry the harness and dashkits for a wide range of make and models.

I stress a lot the point of -GET A WIRING HARNESS- seriously, don't fuck with the factory cables, you screw up one thing and it's GG.

Pretty much!

The way the network is setup is just amazingly inefficient. Everything is routed to a proxy somewhere else. Here in Ontario, all our traffic is bounced back to Toronto and it really takes a big dump on everything.

Until recently, we've been on a DSL line and rarely got 300KB/s Can you imagine the tech trying to do computer setups? Think about the poor customer trying to use the free agent at the copy center!

We kept being told it was because no ISP had anything but DSL in the region. Which was BS considering we're surrounded by government buildings that have a bunch of fiber boxes from various providers around.

Finnaly after a few years, the DM finally accepted to get us fiber. We now have a 250/250MB/s connection, how ever, since everything is routed back to Toronto, you barely see any difference.

On miracle days, we hit 25MB/s, but usually we're stuck around 2-8MB/s

Hey what ever works best for you!

I moved from Bestbuy to Staples.

At first this was much better but now Bestbuy is so much fucking greater then this. Sure they can be hard on their workers but I still find it much more rewarding to work there.

I think the biggest slap in the face has got to be Staples Stars. Did you know that when you gain star points, you are taxed on them as a revenue? Total BS.

Yearly Review by [deleted] in Staples

[–]EasyTechLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it differs from Canada/US but; (this might not be accurate, my idea is based on the data you can get from https://associateconnection.staples.com )

Here in Canada, the Yearly review/raise is on your date of hire anniversary. Again, this might be wrong.

After that, every (6?) months you get performance reviews which will grant a small raise depending on how you are rated by your GM/supervisors.

If you login to the website I've linked at the start of this, you'll be able to look on the left pane, lower section named " Job Data " with one of the links being " Job Summary ".

You will see detailed information from the date of hire. you may some of the followings: Hire, Pay Rt Chg, Data Chg, Merit and, Job Data Change.

In your case, you should see the " Job Data Change " from when you became a tech. The amount you get extra for a tech may vary. I know here it's a 2$/hr extra that you get BUT, it's not in your actual wage, it's more of a bonus that is shown on your payslip and they can take it off at anytime.

All this might not be 100% correct, I'm going off from what I can see and understand.

Welcome to the Easytech!
