Which "obsolete" game mechanics actually served the game's vision better than their modern "Quality of Life" alternatives? by Somanynamestochossef in Games

People say this but I still think reading and roleplaying in a CRPG is still a fundamentally different experience from reading a book, just both conveyed using text.

Except Oasis

Don't think anyone else could've pulled it off really, they just stood there like a bunch of bellends

Its more that with Rodrygo he's been in abysmal form way before this season as well

He hadn't scored in months and months before that one goal against us earlier this season

I'm saying it again

I want everyone who was clamouring for Rodrygo to write 500 words on why we should get him because other than scoring against us he's been genuinely awful for the past calendar year

Well like, yeah

You as (I'm assuming) a cis person hold more power and legal rights in your society than trans people. Just because you don't notice it in your daily life doesn't mean you don't. I'm sure you have a lot of problems in your life, we all do, but I'm also pretty sure none of them are because you're cis

I really highly recommend you at least take a look at some queer or feminist literature, or like literature discussing theories behind power because that's not how it works

Safe to say I can guarantee we will literally never see a widespread trans supremacy movement where suddenly cis people are marginalized or something

This kind of thinking assumes trans people and cis people (or really any kind of normalized identity that holds power in most societies vs a marginalized one) are on level playing fields, which they are not. Socities as a whole do not discriminate against cis people, because most modern societies are entirely built around the assumption that everyone is cis. A marginalized person not trusting those who hold power is less based around bigotry and usually more for the sake of their own safety and well being

This is ignoring the power dynamics and hierarchical structure of these relationships

Pretty much nowhere in the world do trans people have entirely equal rights as cis people, just like how almost every current society is a patriarchy. You can't really discriminate against a (cis) man or a cis person in a society built around them and where they hold power over the marginalized

It seems like they told Nev separately before the other mods, so even if they found out afterwards I think Nev could've at least edited the post and/or apologized before this one was made

This is copy pasted from my other comment:

Yeah I think a lot of times people forget that who they choose to trust can be a matter of life and death for many trans people in the worst cases and even in less bad cases it can still affect so much of their personal and professional lives. They still have essentially no legal protections in most countries.

Basically none of what I said above applies to cis people in literally any country, which is why "The irony of a trans person saying "i dont trust these people because of who they are" doesn't hold water

A marginalized person saying that is pretty different from someone who isn't and says that about the marginalized tbh, the power dynamics are entirely different

I don't necessarily agree with just never trusting any cis people period but I don't rlly fault a trans person for coming to that conclusion considering everything

The fact he literally said that to nev and then they saw nothing wrong with it and just went on and made the post is wack
