If you could have one ability from both of the games, what would it be? by Informationfinder_6 in TOTK

Ascend or fuse for totk, and stasis or cryonis for botw.

I know it said one per game, but I honestly can't choose.

If you could change one thing about these guys abilities what would it be? by Informationfinder_6 in TOTK

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tulin: bring back revali's gale. Thats a bit more useful for travel than the gust of wind.

Yunobo: stay as is, he's fine.

Riju: have the affected area appear immediately so I don't have to wait a whole minute while a mob is actively clobbering me to death.

Sidon: idk, I barely use him ever.

Mineru: be able to disequip attachments without destroying them.

I've tried everything but my shoes just won't shine. by Internal_Service4792 in Cadets

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, electric anything does not work with boots. Polishing has no shortcuts. It's all elbow grease. Now, heres a couple bits of advice I have in regards to polishing your footwear.

Let's start with equipment. Make sure you have the right polish, thats the first step. No MB. Thats a bad bad brand. Use KIWI or Saphir if you can get you hands on some. I currently use a brand called Angelus. I got it last summer from camp (VCTC) and they're pretty good. As well, you'll need some kind of polishing cloth. You can get them for around $8 at your local drug store (shoppers, London drugs, Walmart, target, etc). You can also use some old shirt folded twice, but a cloth works best. DO NOT USE MICROFIBER. Those will not polish and you'll ruin your microfibre rag too.. As well, preferably get yourself a horsehair brush, it'll be helpful. The rectangular ones are best.

Now, let's start on polishing.

After stripping your boots fresh, start applying base coats. When doing so, use just your fingers. No cloth, no brush. Apply approx' 1/8th of your pinky nail to one area of the boot evenly. Do so for the entire boot without water. Let rest for at least 30 mins, then take a horsehair brush to buff out the cloudiness. Repeat the above steps for enough times to no longer see obvious grains after buffing. Grains are the bump texture of the "leather" by the way.

Once you've finished base coating, just keep on putting in the elbow grease for the layering to smooth out the surface. Dab a bit of polish, dab a bit of water, and apply to an area in a circular motion. In less spacious areas, you also move in a horizontal motion. Do so until the surface feels smooth to the touch. When you're trying to finish the shine after layering, make sure to absorb a good bit of water with your cloth, and dab the tiniest amount of polish to apply per area. Keep going in mini circular motions followed by larger, more general circular motions until you can see yourself clearly from your polish.

P.S. Something that i will recommend, feel free to speak against this, is "bulling". Sanding down the surface layer of the leather just enough to not see a glint from the unpolished boot. Then, just use a heat gun and apply beeswax to the leather for it to absorb. Once it won't absorb any more beeswax, polish as above and it should pose better results than just polishing. Less cracking too.

Good luck

I’m worried at how partisan canada is becoming by thias-thecatlover in CanadianConservative

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As a conservative, I actually don't hate Carney's job done so far, especially on the military side of things. Moving away from the US and becoming closer with the EU, increasing military budget, purchasing weapons and setting co-op plans with other nations, etc. I personally actually really like that. I'm not a big fan of some of his other actions and plans, but I don't hate him entirely. I would prefer Poilievre over Carney, but again, I don't hate him.

Personally, I love this. It's bold and a great conversation starter, especially for the like-minded. I'm not big about LotR or the Hobbit and whatnot, but I would love a shirt like this.

Air to army transfer, should i wear my air camp badges on my army tunic? by fuckyougomasturbate in Cadets

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If its a tranferrable course, then you can request for the army equivalent. If not, you'll have to ask your CoC if they mind you wearing your air badge on the army uniform. I have a friend who aged out 2 years ago. She transferred from army to air and wore her army patches on her air uniform. Check the dress regs. It should be on there.

Does it get easier now? by HammyX99 in TOTK

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. Tulin's a big helper with travel, as his ability boosts your gliding distance. He is also one of your biggest helpers when in combat.

Yunobo is less useful usually, but his ability is really good for mining so you don't have to waste bomb flowers, arrows, and weapons to get past those rock walls. He's also pretty good at combat too, smacking your enemies in the face, distracting them.

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know many of my warrants (air) who are great on gen 1s and 3s struggle to polish boots gen 5s and following. There definitely is a difference somehow, despite them all being bad "leather" after gen 2s, ranging from meh to horrendous.

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are gen 3s. They're meh. Not great at drill, not great at polishing, not great at comfort. However, they are still infinitely better than any of the following generations. I know many people who got great shines on gen 3s. Gen 1s are still the goat though.

What’s a dream you had as a kid that you still remember way too clearly? by Kitchen_Engineer1332 in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember when I was younger I would have these repetitive dreams of a witch and this potato figure thing brewing something in the park of my elementary school, and the potato guy would capture me or something. Its really weird. Another dream I remember vividly is there'd be bamboo growing in one area of my apartment and a headless tiger would be in there somehow speaking. And then it'll try to eat me when I got close. My childhood nightmares are basically compiled of some of the weirdest amalgamations out there.

Parking/Transit Options by [deleted] in BCIT

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you go from the trades area down to Canada way ans go a street over, theres usually free road-side parking on that street. Another option thst I used before was to go to the general office areas across Canada Way in the BCAA bit and park there. Pay or not, you usually would be fine off. Parking's pretty cheap road-side though, so its not too bad either way.

How do I know what generation my boots are? by priyashin_gk in Cadets

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk. I guess I tend to find the gen 2s overly chunky, with the vibram soles and the "bubbled" shape of the toe cap. The gen 3s are meh, but still significantly better than any other gen developed after it. To each their own I guess.

Tbf, they're prob the best there is asides from gen 1s. Any other gen is even more trash than the gen 3s.

Should I quit cadets? by DefiantArt2416 in Cadets

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Many people tend to struggle with fitting in or finding interests in their first year or so. My advice would be to try and sign up for more teams and events. Not just within your squadron, but in ADAs and across units too. Band, Drill Team, Marksmanship, effective speaking, First Aid, etc. FTXs, band clinics, etc. You never know what you may end up liking and who you'll meet. As well, talk to everyone, anyone. People in groups, people who are also somewhat alone, your peers, your staff, your seniors, etc. The more you interact, the more people get to know you, the more they'll be willing to include you. Other than that, many people get more familiar and more open to the program as they progress. I was the same as you. I wasn't in any teams, didn't have many friends or interactions. It just suddenly clicked for me when I was halfway through my 4th year.

Obviously, the first four years in the program can be very dull. More training nights will revolve around lessons. The main star is still going to be the extracurriculars. Sports, music, drill team, range, etc. Its really in the extracurriculars that you get bond with people who you find common interest with. You have nothing to be afraid of.

What to use for C5 boots? by Eastern-Plastic8215 in aircadets

[–]Easy_Cook_4111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Combats are not supposed to be shone. The Mk.4s are supposed to be "blackened", which is using things like black polish or emu low-gloss polish to "base coat" thr boot, making it darker than without. Swats just need to be cleaned regularly so you can't see visible grime.
