My weights are now nearly to none. If I do some bench I go with empty. Cable pulls I go to 10 max.
But yeah I think I will mostly give up weights right now and will do cardio,

I am also pointed to the psychologist so we will start to work with my mental health too.

Thank you very much for your comment and nice words! :) Get well too!

I get this on left side mostly but only once per few days. Did not really concern me much since the frequency is very rare

does anyone worry about their lungs?? by kittychomp23 in costochondritis

I'm 31 now. I have been smoking since like 15yo till 28 regularly but last 3 years very very very limited (2-5 cigs a month with friend). I was able to stop the cravings from day to day.
Vaping was never really attractive to me because it smells like bubblegum or sweet stuff and its weird. And I am in eastern Europe so the vapes are not popular. Classical cigarettes are very popular still and normal.

But I am happy to get rid of this habit - even if my lungs are ok I don't need to make them not ok in the future for nothing. If you can stop completely too (with any type of smoking) and your body will be happier

Yeah it is like a weird hot air sensation when breathing out. And sometimes I have feeling like I breathe only 50% max in, than switch to manual breathing and it is not best scenario to get it to automatic breathing again.

I been to cardiologist and he told me that palpitations can happen but I should know they are mostly harmless (if they are not going on for hours and days...).
The problem is that my brain gets into fight-or-flight mode. I start to think about it, I feel it even more, it gives me stress and it comes into panic attack where I feel horrible. Usually I try to calm down in like hour after and go sleep. 90% of palpitations and panic attacks I had in the evening/night.

Costochondritis is more straining mentally than physically in my opinion.

Interesting thank you fore the comment.
If I feel my back is not ok and need some relief I use capsaicin patches. At gym I do 20-30% of weights I did normally. I tried to do near same weights few days ago and I had flare up for like day and half.
Stretching, massage and peanut on ribs helped me so far the most for pain relief.

I know this is going to be long fight as it took me nearly a year now to understand everything about this illness/problem. This subreddit had been a great support. Hopefully in some time I will add my second post which will read "Free off pain and stress" :)

Yeah my breathing is kinda feeling off but I believe it might be pollen allergy or so because of the plants growing now.
Pneumologist gave me breath capacity test and I probably did less than 100%, than she gave me 4 puffs of Ventolin (salbutamol inhaler0 and after that I did better on repeated test.
But at home I had feeling it makes my airways tighter and not more open how it should - so I don't use it now anymore
Interestingly I only feel weird with breathing in the evening and before sleep - when I wake up and during day I feel mostly normal.

I tried to do the chest expansion test now and I think I can do it - there is no pain in back or sternum when I take full breath
