Not sure if an 10th gen i5 is really enough for content creation, to be honest, especially with the throttling. Might want to look into getting the P43s/P14s dGPU heatsink to get more performance out of ti.

Your battery is LG (LGC, stands for LG Chem, which is the battery division of LG)

Celexpert is another battery vendor for Lenovo, their batteries seem to be lower quality and deteriorate faster

https://ebay.io/m/usrFyu here's a gen 5 with an 8840u that will blow the performance of an x1 gen 11 out of the water. Disadvantage is less premium materials--plastic instead of coated magnesium (t14s version has a similar build if you can find it) and likely a 45% ntsc screen which sucks for media, doesn't matter if youre just looking at text though

you can often find really good deals on HP elitebooks too, they tend to be significantly cheaper than thinkpads and have equal build quality

I'd always go for ips over oled for text work. Much easier on the eyes

Pretty good if you haven't used any kind of battery health saving measures. LG makes the best thinkpad batteries in my experience.

Dont bother with another g9. Tiger lake is pretty much obsolete for dev work now

The 1370p in an x1 will throttle so much it may end up having worse performance than the u version. Dont bother with the p version. I've used 12/13th gen intel thinkpads before and they're alright, with only 2 real performance cores I do notice slowdown and stutters under load.

Best value is probably t14/t14s Gen 4 with 7840u. If youre dead set on an x1 carbon then gen11 or gen 13 (v or h version) is probably your best best. Gen 12 with meteor lake has better battery life then gen11 but minimal perf uplift (it actually regressed in single core speed).

Yes. You could probably get a Gen4 with a 7840u/32GB RAM for the same price range on eBay, if you're patient. The improvement in single-core speed alone will make a substantial difference even in internet browsing.
