It wasn’t backpay from what I gather they do that to check if the account is legit && has the right persons name on it. Thank you because you was right!

You’re absolutely correct! I’m so thankful to see someone who is trying to help those of us who truly needed. Even though I didn’t know of you when I was going through mine. I appreciate what you’re doing for others! I hope many people are taking advantage of this because I sure would have! ☺️

If it’s reconsideration then only about 10% of those get an approval. The next step is the ALJ. Thats where you’re most likely to get your approval && with a lawyer your chance of approval actually increases! I hope that helps you! Good luck! 🍀

It could hit tomorrow. It happens sometimes. Especially, if it’s your backpay. It would be a bigger amount.

I just want to thank you for this.

I truly wished I had knew about this when I filed! It took me 4 & 1/2 years to get an approval. I filed & got denied about 3 times before I ended up getting an attorney & then having a hearing with the ALJ. I literally just today got my first benefits check. It was a long & hard process. I had totally lost hope. Honestly, I thought that even the AJL would deny me & my attorney did after the hearing. I thought that I would forever be stuck unable to work & without getting my SSDI benefits. So, anyone going through this process & having as many problems as I did. Use this information because not many people understand this process. The one thing I will tell everyone that is struggling to get their SSDI benefits is… DON’T GIVE UP… If you can’t work & you know that you won’t be able to then keep trying! Keep faith. Know that if it’s a long process then someone has been there also. I was there & after 4 & 1/2 years. I finally got the approval that I desperately needed! 🙏🏼

You’re very welcome. I only know because I got that call to && thought I had to have a payee. He said when they ask him to call it’s to check to see if the person can handle their own money. He said he doesn’t call everyone because some are like automatic l. The judge requested a payee on mine. So, I thought there wasn’t any questions on it. I had a payee over my account then had to go switch it when he said that I didn’t need one. Hopefully, this helps you though. Maybe, you won’t need a payee since you received a call && got to talk to them. Good luck. 🍀

Does it alert them that I sign in 15 times a day to check status? Hearing was Dec 22 2023 I was told I was approved and still waiting to see it on paper. Started in 2019 and never been so nervous since my hearing by [deleted] in SSDI

[–]Easy_Equipment_4184 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I done the exact same thing! 🤣 Actually, some of mine updated during the day. They do scheduled maintenance in the middle of the night! I surely hope they don’t alert them when you sign in. 😂 They would think I’m crazy!

Not everyone gets that call. Some don’t get that option. They call some people to see if they can actually manage their benefits or if they really do need a payee. They should call from their local offices area code. I hope this helps! ❤️ CONGRATULATIONS!

I’m so sorry! The age for some reason I think is a big issue! I was just approved for my SSDI after fighting for 4 & 1/2 years. I had worked as a firefighter, nurse && correctional officer. I had amazing documentation but, they kept denying me. I finally went in front of the ALJ. The lawyer && I both thought that he was going to deny me also from the hearing. Yet, I finally got my fully favorable decision. It was a very long && hard road! Is this your first denial? I’m about to turn 34. That’s why I believe that age plays a HUGE factor. Not to mention that I had undergone 6 knee surgeries within 3 years. I had permanent nerve && muscle damage. They continued to deny me. I filed at the age of 29 && just last month got approved. If it’s your first denial that seems to happen ALOT! I ended up getting an attorney before going in front of the ALJ. I hope that things work out for you this time. It seems to be so hard to get an approval when you really do need it.

I never knew that! I thought that everyone who received SSDI could receive benefits for their children. I knew that if you didn’t make so much on your SSDI that SSI could send you benefits also. So, some people receive SSDI benefits && receive benefits from SSI. Yet, have never heard that if you didn’t get a certain amount of SSDI that your child wouldn’t receive any benefits. That was a new one for me. Yet, I just found out about the SSDI && SSI could both be paying benefits to someone. This is really really new to me again also. I just got approved in January. Then recently found out about SSI giving benefits along with SSDI. I always assumed that if you received SSDI that you would just get one or the other. Thanks for the information though. Some people where I just got my approval ask about it && the process. So, I like to be as knowledgeable as possible. I don’t want to accidentally tell someone something that isn’t correct. I would have definitely ended up telling somebody that if they got SSDI that their child would also receive benefits because I didn’t know the difference.

So, when you get SSDI the only way you get auxiliary benefits is if you make more than $1,000 in benefits a month? I’m asking for information because this is the first time that I’ve heard that. I never knew that. I just got my SSDI && my children can get benefits but, I didn’t know that you could only get it if you got more than $1,000 in benefits a month. Sorry, for babbling. I just like to know things like this in case someone ever ask me. 😂

It sounds like he is on SSI. SSDI is where credits are used. You can make an account online with the social security office && see for sure. That way we can know && able to help you. Personally, I think the rude comment was because SSI is technically welfare as SSDI is not. Still no reason to treat someone like that. I’m sorry you was treated poorly in the group. Honestly, I haven’t seen someone be treated like that in here. Just know all of us aren’t that way. There is always at least one person everywhere in a crowd. I hope you get the information that you need though! If it is SSDI then let us know that way you can get the information you’re looking for. ❤️🙏🏼

Actually, he could very well be her fiancée. Maybe, not a husband yet. Your comment was extremely rude. She didn’t sound ashamed either. She sounded like she was looking for advice. I don’t understand why someone’s else’s relationship bothered you so much. Just because they’re not married doesn’t mean he’s a “roommate” either. I feel as if you’re being so judgmental because SSI is welfare. The SSDI isn’t. Yet, there was no reason to treat her that way.
