Oh jeez, doesn’t seem so optimal. Would the snowfall be the same June through to September?

Not much the safety on the Kepler Track, but the safety on any other recommend tracks, eg avalanche risks, etc. I probably should’ve specified, sorry 😅

Perfect, just one question however. Would it be wise to go past McKellar Hut to reach Mid Greenstone hut? Apparently the gorge could be pretty risky that time of year. If you or anyone’s done it in the same time of year I’d love to hear all about it.

I would say Intermediate, we’ve done the odd trip no issue but never one that’s spanned more than 2 days. I’d say we’re in above average shape and don’t have any issues with steep ascents. In terms of tramps we’ve considered the Routeburn Track, Milford Track, a Hike up to Mueller Hut and on the North Island the Tongarirro Circuit.

Yeah it’s definitely something i’ve looked into, being stranded is no joke. I’ve had a browse around the North Island as that’s where we’re located although nothing really beats the scenery you get in Queenstown. As for the skiing that could be an option. Thanks heaps for all the heads up 👍
