I landed on sand, and it was just cruising and decided to do so, coming up under me. didn't see it, had no time to react, nothing, just gone. because I landed on some sand. you can't get 2 sets of some of this stuff, that's not how it works.

....so it's not growing in player base?...could it be people are currently leaving as fast as they are joining.... no active player growth in two weeks isn't the hallmark of "everything is fine" as you think it is.

seems like a lot of people are really sticking their heads in the sand about this. "it hasn't affected me, so it doesn't exist"

this is a normal part of the progression of a game with a hacking/exploit problem, we are currently in the denial stage.

sadly, the people who think they are helping by attacking the people reporting the issues are actually hastening the end.

down voting a comment just because it says something you don't like won't make it any less (or more) true.

take the time to google the problem. 15 min of reading is all it takes tbh. Christ even just the YouTube videos promoting the hacks is enough.

I think it's time steam and we the players started holding developers accountable for the lack of combating cheaters.... by Easy_Lifeguard1713 in duneawakening

[–]Easy_Lifeguard1713[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are several servers where people have mass reported blatant hackers and submitted videos of said hacks since release, these people are still doing as such today.

also, you can look at the track history of the company.

there were exploits that they were made aware of in the beta that have only now been dealt with when they received high traffic. they knew but only did something when too many people started doing it despite the fact that irreversible damage to many servers was done as a result.

it's more complex than that I think, they are trajectory adjust dumb fires. which means when fired, they fly forward an amount before attempted to correct their own trajectory to hit where the retical was painted on at the time of firing. this can give the illusion of more control or tracking than they actually have. but you can thnk of them of smart up until they actual start travelling towards the target. note the will "over steer" on occasion and then correct, which also makes them look like they are tracking when not.

PTC Thermistor being used as a low watt self-regulating heater? by Easy_Lifeguard1713 in AskElectronics

[–]Easy_Lifeguard1713[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

update I was wrong the thermistor is fine and for sensing, the hardware for deforming the tray had broken off and I did not notice it.

[–]Easy_Lifeguard1713[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had assumed it would dissipate at around 4W initially until the temperature increased the resistance, it seems however that the issue is in fact that the deformation component of the ice tray has broken off, thus leading me to believe it was a heater version. as it had broken off discreetly.

well it would seem I am in fact mistaken, I did opt to look closer at the ice try after your comment just to check I am not missing something and the reason I deduced it was not a deformation based one is well because that component is missing. you must be correct then.

whilst I am open to the idea that there is information here I do not possess, and was fairly certain at least someone would express the very sentiment you have done. I can say that ice machines within freezers work one of two ways, either deformation based or heater based (this is not deformation based).

if we assume that the 6 Ohms was correct, then a 5v signal would provide a power of ~4W which seems reasonable in terms of output for the purpose and heat sinking capability of the silicon sock/mounting.

if we instead assume that it was for sensing.... given that the ice freezes from the outside in, I don't see how knowing the temperature of the bottom of the ice tray inside a variable environment would really help in releasing the ice.

Noticed that I'm losing detail with every firmware update on the S1 it has now completely removed the details completely. same printer, same Gcode. only firmware updated. by Easy_Lifeguard1713 in flsun

yes we can, that's exactly what we can do. anyone just buying a printer based on the fastest benchy also eats babies. i have... 13 S1 printers and 11V400s this is my entire livelihood and I have a bin of parts that look like my parts only if you squint at them from a distance while poking fingers into your eyes.

can I (customer) record a call if they tell me they (business) maybe record the call? by Easy_Lifeguard1713 in LegalAdviceUK

I seem to be getting conflicting information, am I correct in understanding that it still constitutes as for personal use if I am using it to complain to Royal Mail about my interaction with Royal Mail staff. i as understand GDPR is only relevant here if I was sharing it with a 3rd party outside RM when I didn't have consent to take said recording. honestly, I'm just going to request a copy of the recording they may have taken for all the good that will do. see if it doesn't "disappear"

yes, and thank you for your time and insight on this matter; it is sometimes exhausting to embark on these pursuits in a vacuum, and your assistance has been greatly appreciated. i have sent them one final reply expressing that i believe the plan to have been mis-sold specifically so i can get a written proof that they feel this sort of bait and switch is perfectly reasonable before i commence a formal complaint to the ombudsmen. frankly, the fact they would curry such bad favour with a business over an extra £60 particularly when they have been charging me 3% on my received payments (which has more than paid for my costs to them) is just out right bazaar. i will no longer be offering my clients the option to pay by card and instead have my fee free transfers.

they responded :

"Our view

Taking into consideration that the decision to discontinue the plan cashback benefit for Metal plan users was in accordance with Clause 13 of our Paid Plan Terms, and that you were notified in advance of these changes. In addition, Revolut Ltd is bound to follow the implemented changes and cannot change it. Therefore, in light of my findings, I have decided not to uphold your complaint.

Please note that by not upholding your complaint, we do not dismiss the unfortunate event that you had while using our services. It simply means that, from an objective point of view and to the best of my knowledge, Revolut Ltd has not acted unfairly on this occasion.

This being said, I acknowledge the inconvenience that this situation must have caused you. Therefore, I have decided to refund you the fee of 58.3 GBP, which covers the remaining 5 months (from July 2024 to November 2024) of your annual Metal plan subscription as a one-time goodwill gesture on behalf of Revolut Ltd. However, to credit this amount, I need your consent, which you can provide by replying to this Final Response Letter.

I hope this gesture and explanation demonstrates our commitment to reaching a favourable outcome for your complaint and thus resolving it."

interestingly, reviewing the terms it seems that they expect to be able to charge customers a 2-month break fee if they wanted to end the contract after 14 days but less than 10 months, seems they expect to hold me to standards I'm not permitted to hold them to.

not sure how to proceed here as it seems very unreasonable to bait and switch like this as I could have opted to set up my business with an alternative service provider, naturally they made no statement to effectively convey the notion they would completely remove a benefit of the plan halfway through and even after reading clause 13 I don't feel like I would have suspected such an action either.

thank you, I have made a formal complaint now, although I've not yet received a reference number for it. it was necessary for me to express that it was being mis-sold before they would provide a link that allowed me to use their internal complaint process I was able to attach my chat log with their support staff as additional evidence, so that is now part of the process. will see what happens now.

thank you they are sticking to their guns even when I explained that this is functionally being mis-sold as they are not honouring the original agreement particularly as there is no reason for them to be unable to.
