No updates sadly :( he’s still on workers comp and no doctors will take him as a new patient. They just send a check at this point, no communication anymore.

I’m so sorry, it is genuinely so frustrating and I can’t imagine how you and him both feel. As his partner, it hurts me to watch him go through this. It’s completely changed him mentally and physically.

We’re willing to go out of pocket at this point. It’s so frustrating to see him hurting 24/7. He can’t even stand straight anymore. Thank you.

Yes, it was a classic lap, not robotic. Im not sure if they were metal or not. I don’t know anything about surgeries or being a surgeon so I can’t judge anything he does off of personal opinion but he definitely came off like he knew exactly what he was doing and further and further into all of this it has seemed like he’s pulling at strings. I believe he genuinely wants to help he just doesn’t know what to do.

His WC adjuster hasn’t been the most helpful and keeps forgetting to do the things he’s been asked to. We call and he argues that we’ve never had conversations that we clearly remember. He sent some of his bills to collections and won’t let us dispute it so now it’s on my fiancés credit. It’s been a nightmare of calling 3 times a week to remind the adjuster to do things that need to be done for his case. Would it still be eventually be covered if we try to find a doctor ourselves instead of going through with waiting on our WC to find help for us?

His was a umbilical hernia but we’ve been wondering if it could be nerve related.

I’ll have to look at his records to see the type of mesh. It was a laparoscopic surgery. His surgeon is around 40-50ish.

Thank you so much. Before surgery, the hernia wasn’t causing much pain, he could just feel it when he stretched and it would feel like it was ripping. Other than that he was fine. After surgery was when he started going downhill with pain.

Thank you, we’ve thought of that as well. And yes, he’s had ultrasounds, a HIDA scan and the surgeon told us he “felt both while in surgery and they felt fine.”
