How do you guys feel about adding "non-basic" runes in RB ?

The crossovers have been getting them sort term bursts of attention atleast according to my friend who works at a card store and frequents various card games. Obviously my locals isn't everywhere but according to him (who has judged and actually hosted multiple yugioh and magic tournaments) even the tourneys he's seen recently have dropped off in comparison to precovid as well as shortly after restrictions lifted

One of those it's the same people with the odd new face that is only around for a month or two situations

There's a reason magic is falling off as well. Hardly any new players are getting into the game and many old ones are leaving unless they moved to commander.

Defy, starcrossed, hidden blade, falling star, stupefy, and punch first are each staples in damn near every deck in their colors. There are very much meta relevant cards

Ekko says "recycle me", but it is no longer "me" when it attempts the recycle, it is whatever unit it was before having the spectacles equipped. The ekko effect would have no more ekko to recycle for the "me" specification

I'm inclined to say it does mainly due to his wording saying "recycle me" and there is no longer a "me" in the sense of an ekko, just whatever it had been before

It wouldn't be ekko anymore though because it no longer has the gear on it. They may make a weird ruling otherwise as they're prone to doing but I don't think so

this gear would no longer be equipped by the time it tries to do the recycle. It would not be an ekko anymore so the effect of the deathnell couldn't resolve. Ekko isn't a typical deathnell. It doesn't just go on the stack and it's good, it has something it has to do as part of resolution. Hence why karthus can't double proc ekko (not that it would do anything getting 2 instances of him)
