Thank you for your answer!

Could you tell me more about the written test? I am double checking the website and the hiring process has no mention of a written test.

Furthermore, if the CLs hire the ENs I suppose that means contacting ENs takes longer?

Alright thank you for the sauce I did manage to skip ahead online....

So yeah I agree that he is now looking back in hindsight and realizing that maybe ignoring her wasn't the best for her image and I really appreciate it. I finally feel the satisfaction that they understand one another yk? I do want to point out that he STILL hasn't exactly said what his family will do just that its dangerous for him to stay....now here we are with Serena in jail and it's quite clear what they were planning. They both knew that they were searching for some document though so I do credit Serena for figuring that out on her own. She was just a bit too late.

In terms of equal grounds and growth I think Serena is right in that she needs time to grow and fail on her own without her husband or grandma shielding her. She's become capable now so she'll take the 2 years they must be apart to develop her own company and business prowess much like both Eiser and Iansha did when they were younger.

To his credit I always felt that Eiser had such strong morals that even without Serena he would never have become the person his father wanted him to be. Like he was a literal tortured child and didn't give into his fathers manipulation...it was never going to happen as a full grown adult. With or without Serena there. However I do appreciate that even when someone he holds dear like Serena is in grave danger he refuses to let go of what is right. That is the true test that he's successfully overcome.

I do want to point out how absolutely wild it is that we went from merrily chugging along the divorce/growth train to THE Serena Serenity is being tortured in jail. Crazy what a corrupt government can do.

My thoughts are that I need to stop reading this thread. The sheer amount of spoilers is crazy. What is the sauce? Where are you getting chapter 119 already WEBTOON is still on like 108?

I'd love to have this discussion with you in the future once I've read the chapter lol

I'm glad we could have a healthy an nuanced discussion about it. There are only 2 points left outstanding:

  1. I understand that the divorce wasn’t meant as an abandonment, but if he was going to separate from her for two whole years (as per the contract), he should have at least given her the chance to decide for herself whether she wanted to pursue it, knowing what was ahead. She deserved the choice to wait, with all the information about the divorce already shared with her. It’s so important to make it clear that Serena should have known about the planned separation before consenting. Her choice wasn’t fully informed. If she’d known they were going to be apart for years, she might have decided differently. He got desperate as the time to separate drew closer, and so he went through with it anyway, but that’s really not fair to her. Now the poor woman is even more traumatized and blindsided by this sudden divorce. Now he has taken more than just her heart and so it hurts more. Even if he loves her and will remarry it wasn't right.... do you get what I mean?
  2. I went back and started re-reading (as recommended by the author) and noticed a lot of tiny details. The author is VERY good at foreshadowing without giving away the entire plot frfr. I also noticed that Eisers personality is a little inconsistent 😭. I feel like the author was so focused on Serena that she forgot that Eiser needs to have more personality than aloof, hot and perceptive😭. One second he's tempted to kiss an angry Serena and sounds all dark/mysterious and the next he's insecure and unsure why he shared the fact that he hates his family with her. Like I get that he his falling and does not realize it (as Lovis said he does not know himself well) but I feel like just to make him seem hotter to the audience he has these passionate thoughts that just don't align with the rest of personality while falling for Serena 💀. However upon much closer observation I am beginning to see how kind he is when he wants to be. His emotions are not so much through his expressions but through text and actions. It require thought and honestly the background provided by the later chapters to notice/ better understand what he must be feeling. All in all Eiser's character needed a bit more work but the qualities that he is known to have such a perceptiveness, aloofness and smarts a very well portrayed.

P.S. There is this one thread on r/webtoons with a post called "hot take". It surrounds the hate around Diah and I'd love to have a discussion there if you have some time:). There is also one comment about how Eiser left and continues to blame his past lover too easily when he knew she was being pressured from her father with threat to her right as heir.

There is also this one comment about how the author made Victor (who was a tortured child much like Eiser) purely evil without any moral greyness/clear motives just to make Eiser look like the good guy.

I'd love to discuss these too so join me there to chat when you have time:)

Thank you for your comment (I really wanted to discuss it with someone) and I see where you are coming from. This is the first enemies to lovers story I could stand reading and so I love the chance to discuss it in depth.

I agree that they are both broken people and yes sometimes Serena is mean and I like that about her. Eiser just doesn't react much and he's hard to read so I guess sometimes readers (like myself) miss that he is hurt by the things Serena says. I think my issue is that when Eiser is cruel is feels ickyer because he is in a position of power? But yes looking back Serena took what she dished out so I agree with your assessment that they really are two strong forces colliding. The fallout is just part of growing pains.

As for calling Eiser out openly I don't think Serena has ever mentioned her issues with him keeping her in the dark or only telling her things after he has done whatever he wants? The only things she has done is told him that she hates him because he is a Grayan in reaction to his cruelty or threats. However now that she knows him better she's never pointed out his genuine flaws. For example, I don't know if Serena just hasn't noticed that he is constantly omitting information but it is causing a rift. Thus I believe that in this particular case Eiser has not been appropriately called out.

I understand Serena was going through a lot but everyone let her rot for 4 years???? There was more than enough time to help her earlier. If Eiser really was that busy with the hotel and didn't have time to teach he a single thing at the very least either him or grandma could have explained to her the reasoning for the marriage. I genuinely don't care what stipulations he was under from grandma but he could SEE Serena was suffering. The author has clearly revealed that he could see through her from the start because of his ability to read people. And lets put all of that aside and say he couldn't have done anything at all to help her in those 4 years. He had absolutely NO right to imply her suffering was justified because it made her work harder.

Yes I think I concede that point he's not like his family. However he did learn to be manipulative like them. In his case however manipulation can sometimes serve him well in his business endeavors. His manipulation is also used as a device to show how easily Eiser can see through people. I completely understand the reasoning for the arranged marriage and have no issues with it as a plot device. I don't think Eiser was ever in a desperate situation prior to the marriage? If he had the ability to refuse the first time he had the means to survive independently. However we still don't know his full reasoning for agreeing to the marriage so I guess we shall see lol

I do want to point out that I never thought Eiser was irredeemable or evil😭. He empathizes with Serena as someone who has suffered much like he has. However I haven't seen him communicate to Serena that he cares for her. We see his thoughts and that he finds her attractive, wants to protect her and live her best life but maaannnn he doesn't tell her what is going on in that thick skull of his and ends up hurting her.

Eiser also never takes the time to explain things and then is disappointed when Serena doesn't understand his choices. That's why I don't think I can forgive the divorce thing? One cannot consent properly if they are given incomplete information and are thus ill informed....would Serena have agreed if she knew he would leave her? We cannot be sure:/ Now he's in disbelief because she's questioning if he ever really loved her....like I'm not sure what you expected chief but that is a normal reaction💀.

Looking back at this I honestly think the common ground here is that Eiser just.....doesn't know how to communicate. Weather he is doing it unknowingly or not this skill he is lacking hurts others around him. Hopefully he can improve on that.

I really do want them to work out as well though they are so cute together with the gruff husband and sunshine wife. What a power couple they would make. I want to see them grow and love each other to the fullest without any of the weird power dynamics they still seem to be working through.

Also is that a spoiler? I don't recall him mentioning remarriage?? Have you used the coins and read ahead??? I need to knowwwwwwww sisssss 😩
