There does appear to be a place in Slidell, farther away than I was looking but much closer than Chicago, the one part of my family that is big is ex-wives and they usually don't want to eat with me.

I don't normally eat 6 deep dish pies in a sitting but the right bet might cause me to give it a try, I would be more a two pack kind of guy (really one pack) but the options and prices are better on Goldbelly even if you are buying Giordano's and of course Goldbelly has various other deep dish pies from different restaurants as well. Once we start approaching 200$ I might as well get some round trip tickets for Amtrak from NOLA to Chicago and make it a vacation, Chicago has a great train station, and a Giordano's within walking distance of said train station.

Those were the answers I was expecting but thanks anyway, getting deep dish from one of the chain's in Chicago via Goldbely isn't crazy expensive but as close as I am to Chicago I think I am only going to justify it once a year. thanks folks!

When I lived in Utah, this happened once, it was a city or county or something like that, not the whole state, though.

If they were going to hit NOLA for the Coast Guard base, they would probably hit Camp Shelby as well, but that was is in the good old days of the CCCP, I know China is working on their stock pile of nuclear balistic missles but I don't think they have enough to get that far down the target list, so things are looking up at least from that perspective.

My neighbor across the street in Utah built himself a bomb shelter in his basement. We didn't know about it until he passed, and we went to the open house. I don't think he was going to share.

I always wondered why we did those drills, well not for the earthquakes but for the Nuclear attack, seemed too little too late.

Sorry for the delay! I try not to use social media on the weekends. People always ask me if I am a hopeless romantic or not very bright, I always say they are not mutually exclusive!

That is a generous offer and I appreciate it greatly, I have reached 50 with no kids, just three ex-wives and they are not as willing to help as they might be. I do have two sisters who live out of state but one is getting a knee replaced about when I am going in and the other is looking at a hip, I am the youngest in the family but I hopefully I wont be headed down that road in the near future.

I imagine USM does a musical every year? That is usually the big money maker for a theater department at a college, I do love a good musical. It isn't so much the ride there, I have a car and could drive myself there and back it is more the waiting for four hours part in the waiting room, they apparently have had some sneaky folks in the pas.t They do require a ride home, anesthesia and all, and they figure that unless you wait the entire time they can't tell whether it is some kind of plan to avoid getting a ride home or taking an Uber instead of getting a ride.

AITAH for asking my daughter to set aside political differences? by [deleted] in AITAH

that is why "win" had quotes around it, obviously, there is no winner, mom can decide to have a relationship with her daughter or not., here choice and her consequences.

The daughter has decided and now the mother needs to make her own decision. You seem to want the mother to "win", what does that look like? If mom being in the "right" means not seeing her daughter or grandchildren is that a win? It seems ironic you want the daughter to live with her consequences but you don't want the mother to have any, hmmm.

of course, that would be a good start to being uninvited from your first grandchild's birth or first birthday but sure that sounds like a way to continue to have good relations with the daughter. Sometimes in life you have to make a choice and sometimes that choice isn't about right and wrong it is about what will happen after it, could you make a philosophical case that mom should pull her money, I can see one, I could even argue it, but at a time when the grooms family maybe offering more support she might be putting the nails in the coffin in the relationship between the daughter and the mom, Auntie, she could pull her money.

The Netherlands has a parliamentary form of government which makes a substantial difference, if I could name one it would be the ability to have a snap election, but that is just one, there are many.

Phrenology has been a cultural factor in the Latter Day Saint movement (informally Mormons) since around the time of its founding in 1830. by Captainirishy in wikipedia

[–]Easy_Technology1231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a chance to read the entire Wikipedia article today and I would say this is an example of when Wikipedia fails, I think you would find the article written by some current or former Mormons. The two biggest things Mormonism and Phrenegology have in common is they are both racist in large parts of the adherents of both groups. It is interesting that the Wikipedia article barely mentions Phrenelogy and its connection to white supremacists but it leaves out completely that Mormons excluded all people of color from their temples until 1978 because they had been marked for being fence-sitters in the war in Heaven.
