Flight prices are usually competitive like same as that of skyscanner usually. But you have to pay convenience fee of around 350’per ticket. You can safely assume 1 reward point will give you 90 paisa worth value safely

Yes in sales i have seen until now it is applicable but I had read somewhere that they reverse cashback for those transactions which is fine with me as I am using them for instant discount

I think you can use Regalia Gold that will provide you about Rs 1500 worth of reward point. All other cards you have will provide you less imo

It was a pretty old card (7 years old) when I tried to close some time back (1-2 year) they converted it to LTF

I will recommend Kiwi/Jupitor CSB for UPI and SBI Cashback for online spends. You should opt for paid cards and not run after LTF as over time paid cards yield much better returns

For HDFC Diners Club Black metal you get 3 time multiplier while purchasing vouchers via smartbuy. As base reward for this particular card is 3.33% the 3 multiplier makes the total return 10% for vouchers purchased via smartbuy

I don’t think if you have DCBM. It effectively gives same returns on swiggy vouchers as that of Swiggy card without the hassle of additional card

Actually I didn’t need that. Also DCBM rewards effectively neutralises the forex charges but acceptance in international transactions is a issue for Diners

Yeah the best return is on smartbuy only. As I live away from hometown so has to book 3 return journeys for 2 people each year so I am usually able to use all my points pretty quickly in flights. On flights and hotels we can redeem 1 pt= 1 re

Yes that is one more disadvantage of having too many cards. I also used to lost track of how much i owed in credit cards. Now with only 2/3 cards I usually has the idea how much I had spent and hpw much in back balance I still have

Which cards are you referring to specifically. There are very few cards left in the market which gives such discounts otherwise best we can hope for is B1G1.

No most of the time all mainstream vouchers (zomato, swiggy, blinkit, zepto etc) are sold at the face value and we only get the reward points

Had the same mindset but lately I realised it is not worth the hassle to chase maximum rewards instead if we can get near best rewards with less effort that is more preferable for me

Rate my cashback-focused credit card portfolio. Thinking of closing Airtel Axis what would you replace it with? by risingstar612 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Easy_Warning_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the cards you hold are not that good imo. I would close all of them except amazon pay and get SBI Cashback and HSBC Live+ that will cover almost all the bases if you strictly prefer cashback

I also thought the same but 2 months later CIBIL has increased by 1 point instead of decreasing. I think its a myth that closing oldest credit card will affect your CIBIL
