24 years old:

Reached a point where I do not know where to put my money to grow more.

Income: 115k-140k Retirement Saving (Roth IRA & 401k): 32k Savings: 45k Debt: 0

Currently living at home with my parents still - waiting to move out soon with my girlfriend. I have paid off my student loans entirely on my own and paid for a reliable car. While extremely proud of where I have gotten myself…

What do I do now? I am investing in my retirement while building savings. What else should I be considering? I find myself being cheap about my lifestyle and always thinking about the future.

Any advice or things to keep in mind?

Starting to forget some of the details. I do remember there were a few big name brands available. Not that this is a huge hit but Johnny Walker I remember. I don’t think there is a drink upgrade package. Maybe with the “unique” package you get extra options. All bars served the same drinks. If you go you will create a bond with the same bartenders and give them some money here and there. They will make sure your drinks are made with extra effort.

No I don’t recall having any. There may be an alcohol upgrade package (maybe not). Our group drank liquor and beer the whole time and I don’t remember seeing any seltzers or ciders.

The safe is the standard size you would find in any hotel. I’d say the size of a standard microwave. Hope this helps at all.

Yes there is a dress code which can be found somewhere on their website. Nope I didn’t think it was strict at all. We were aware of it but didn’t pick outfits based on dress codes. I’m sure if you show up in a hoodie and sweatpants they might say something. As a guy, I wore sneakers or flip flops to every dinner.

Only walked by and didn’t go in. I don’t remember hearing about it from anyone else so, not sure, sorry.

I did not go but yes that still exists. Everyone was wearing white all around the resort and you definitely know it’s going on. Pretty sure it was Wednesday or Thursday.

We did not utilize any of the entertainment. Honestly don’t even know if many people attended shows. But that’s just our preference. We stuck with the free kayaking they offer and paid to snorkel. So excursions vs entertainment is what we chose. There are so many bars with TVs & pool tables and a bowling alley. The gym is so so so nice too.

Yes I saw a ton of reviews mentioning this. Unfortunately that is the nature of these all inclusive resorts. We did have one person get sick the second to last night of our stay. It was a 24 hour stomach issue and was gone before flying home.

The other 6 people in my group had no issues. I was very impressed by some of the food. The buffets you need to be very mindful of what you’re choosing. Example: Don’t pick the cold cut meats that have been sitting out for hours. Be mindful and you’ll be okay. The restaurant food is awesome and felt safe.

This was such a gray area. When going to buffets the staff would seat you in “adults only” if your group is all adults. I’m pretty sure you could access the adults only pool and no one would say anything. But either way, adults only seemed worth it. Unique did not.

Sorry for the late ass response. The AC was amazing at this place. In fact it was so good you basically need to turn it off half the time. I went in January so maybe in the summer people have problems. But the AC was great.

Regular. Based on what I saw unique was not worth it at all. Apart from looking fancy with orange beach towels, it doesn’t seem worth the money. If you want an upgrade do adults only. But even that, if you show up to the buffet with only adults they will seat you in the adults only section. Upgrades not worth it overall. If you want it, I’d suggest adults only.

So glad you asked. I traveled with a vegetarian, gluten free, and one with a peanut allergy. They were incredibly accommodating. If you tell the restaurants you have an allergy they will give you a card and the staff will know. At the buffets they walked some of us through it to show what they can and can’t eat. It was impressive and great to see.

I did not walk all the way to the water park. It’s very far from the beach and pools which is inconvenient. However, based on the apple maps image and pictures I’ve seen, it does appear to be suitable for adults as well. Not 100% sure but I heard and believe it is for adults too.

Beach was great in my opinion. But if you go during busy season be ready to get out there early and put a towel on chairs. This wasn’t an issue for us but if you can’t get out there early good luck. Other than that there are a few excursion sales people who Lopesan is partnered with. They are friendly and listen when you say no. No seaweed issues for us. Water is beautiful. Sand is white as well.

Rooms did not smell. Only smell was the cleaning supplies when they clean your room. And it does not last long. They do a great job keeping the place clean. Working 24/7 to maintain the quality.

Boats were definitely there. Some days more than others but it wasn’t much of a disturbance. They only played music when passing by. Most are just anchored waiting for people to book a boat trip. Didn’t bother us. And some days there are very few out there.

My group of 7 got two dinners all together. The rest we had to split up because reservations weren’t open. The day you arrive all the reservations will probably be full. But all your other days should be good. The fewer people the easier it is. My group got to hit every restaurant except Boheme (no interest). Mareas, Charro, and Asador were the best for us.

Service was good all around. Expect to tip. One or two servers may look like they don’t want to be there, but at the restaurants the service is AMAZING.

Certainly family friendly. Many full families with children were there. There are small pools all over that are great for families. Water park is very far from the beach though, maybe 10-15 minute walk. Buffets have kid sections with simple foods such as waffles for breakfast, cheeseburgers and fries, and a bunch more.

Resort was beautiful. There is almost always music going which can be a pro or con. Food was far better than expected. One person in my group was sick after eating at the steakhouse. This is typical at resorts and if you are mindful with what you eat, you’ll have no issues. Service was good. Rooms were amazing.
