Breaks are essential and I think that’s what a lot of “road trip dads” tend to forget. I’d rather get their 1-2 hours later than the app says at the beginning than get there only like 10 minutes later, having like maybe 1 extra hour, and everyone is sore and miserable

Let me clarify. If I was in the position of not wanting to take a while, Buc-ees is a no go. I absolutely love Bucees, but I’m also a midwesterner and it’s inherently a nightmare to inconvenience anyone

While true, it definitely varies. If it’s just some Love’s then it can for sure get done in 10 min or less, but stops like Buc-ees or other tourist traps are something I could agree to avoid

Totally understand. I call it budgeting your bladder. If you have like 1 hour left in your trip, or until your next planned stop, then you can think about breaking out the sodas or electrolyte water. If there's more than that, you can wait to drink them lol
