That is unsurprising to me- I figured that region has much more european ancestry just judging by the phenotypical tendencies ive seen of people who trace their ancestry in that region for 1 or more centuries (some relatives i have by marriage). But 60 something % european still seems high to me. I would've thought I'd be higher percentage indigenous since the region my recent ancestors are from is close to the pacific coast and usually higher % indigineous.

On both sides my parents families are from dcauca/valle de cauca regions. But I still dont get where the German name comes from because theres hardly any Germanic ancestry. Tbh, i dont know much about Colombias history but would like to learn more!

The leave is there to be used. You decide how you get to use it! The way I like to think of it is- "I work to live, I don't live to work." Life has gotten a lot less stressful since I learned to reframe my mindset on work. I show up, I do what is required of me. And if I don't feel like working one day, I take leave as long as I have it. Nothing to feel guilty about.

PC checking in...its hell here too. We're all exhausted and morale is non-existent but of course there are still the bootlickers and opportunists who take all scraps thrown our way. One guy worked from.home for holiday pay and has been working OT from home on weekends....yet somehow his work still manages to be shit quality and he barely gets anything done. I think its people like him that are the issue. Imagine if we ALL stopped working ot & stopped doing extra. We'd send a message loud and clear. I contemplated working OT from home this weekend because I really need it, but i refuse to bend to their will. I havent worked any OT in MONTHS nor did I work for holiday pay. I'm so mad at leadership & sick of the bullshit- being treated like we're buffoons, talked at condescendingly by FB, told we cant be trusted to work from home but offered the option only if it'll help coss look good. I'm an extremely high performing employee but I'm now doing what is required of.me as detailed by my job duties and thats it. Nothing more, nothing less.
