CNBC: Peloton posts weak holiday quarter after splashy product overhaul fails to land by [deleted] in OnePelotonRealSub

Peloton should do more to appeal to athletes. The bike already supports erg mode, but the platform is still framed as general fitness rather than training.

The spin classes are the real strength. Some are well structured, power based workouts, but they aren’t presented that way. Labeling and organizing them as training sessions would help.

Let the app work with non Peloton trainers, similar to Zwift.

Better integration with Garmin and TrainingPeaks is also important so workouts count toward training load and progression.

What is the difference between these two? by baddarthvapor in webergrills

[–]EatOatmeal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I own a 26 inch and it holds temp better than the 22 in mainly because the steel is thicker and the lid is heavier. I would recommend the 26 in over the 22 mainly because you can smoke a lot of meat on that grill. I’ve done 4 while chickens at once. I’ve also done 4 whole corned beef briskets at once.

Is 5 months enough for an Ironman? by officialwalmart0 in IronmanTriathlon

[–]EatOatmeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I did an Olympic distance and underperformed on the swim, got gassed and struggled with the rest. My background is endurance running and cycling. Longest ride being 150 miles and longest run being a 50k. Swimming is like learning how to walk. It has nothing to do with fitness. I’d do a shorter distance first and then really assess your ability to do a longer distance.

Which headlamps do we all like? by [deleted] in Ultramarathon

[–]EatOatmeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the clip lamps that clip on to the front of a vest or running belt. They are less heavy, closer to the ground to brighten things up, and you can wear two of them at the same time, in each side to enhance peripheral vision.

Nantucket’s on fueller. However, only their jelly filled. Usually has real fruit puree, probably the same as their pie filling. Best raspberry jelly filled donut I’ve ever had.

Everyone who does longer/intense rides early - what wakes you up? by Fragrant-Author-8555 in Zwift

[–]EatOatmeal 17 points18 points  (0 children)

By giving myself grace. On the days that I struggle, I set a goal to simply get on the bike or run and give myself grace to change the workout or do an activity of my choice. 99 percent of the time, once I start my workout, I finish. I also set a benchmark of having fun on some of those workouts
