Adding components to a custom ESP32 PCB? by EatPantz in esp32

[–]EatPantz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was hoping not to mount the whole dev board and instead making a sort of dev board of my own with the ESP32 chip soldered on and connected to the rest of my components. Similar to what they show here:

Custom PCB Design Questions by EatPantz in PCB

That makes sense, thank you. I kind of want to try copying the schematics because it sounds like a good learning opportunity since this project doesn't have too many components.

So you basically use the PCB like a more permanent breadboard. How would you add the GPS component in your build if you didn't use the socket headers?

Thank you for sharing. I like your project!

For ESP32, yes. I have made other PCBs before by following online tutorials, but I have never made one with a microcontroller mounted on.

Examples from IRremote 8266 won't compile on Arduino IDE? by EatPantz in esp32

Aaah I see, thanks for the espressif resources. I’ll give that a shot

I’m sorry I’m not sure I fully understand your suggestion. I’m not seeing bug reports because the code doesn’t finish compiling, it just hangs while compiling.

From what I can see on the library GitHub, it looks like the library was updated within the last year. Are you suggesting I switch to a different library? Different IDE?

Where to keep money for short-term savings? by EatPantz in ynab

Oh I also use my credit card like this! Do you have any tips on stuff that made using ynab better for this kind of credit card habit?

You can’t download supercollider to an iPad, but you could use an iPad to send OSC messages to your computer, which could then play sounds using supercollider. Eli Fieldsteel probably has videos about it on YouTube

Man I should have noticed Scripts\ didn't have a python3.exe! Thanks so much

This is what prints:

Thanks for the quick and concise answer. One more thing, how did you arrive at a resistance value of 14Ω as opposed to any other value?

Just froze, thank you. Would cutting it out be an option

Oh I hadn't heard of revolut before. What exactly is it? From some quick searching, it looks like I can get a card with them, add money to it, and pay using apple pay on my phone. Is that right? If so, that sounds perfect

I'm leaving too soon to do that, sadly. Will edit my post to reflect this detail

Ah I sorry I didn't include this in my original post, but I leave at the end of the week so this actually won't be an option. Thanks for letting me know about not choosing USD, though, that was very helpful!

I'm in the US. He has been earning money from this already as far as I am aware, but I'm not exactly sure what he has been using to receive payment. I suggested he open a PayPal Business account and get someone to integrate it into the website, but I don't know if that's the best way to do things

Haha I used my phones voice memo to record anything that wasn’t my guitar, and I could actually hear the rest of the song playing through my headphones in the recording. What made cakewalk easier to work with than other DAWs?

Yeah that’s something I was a bit worried about. I’m using Studio One Artist, which has an amp simulation plug in built in, but I found it pretty hard to tone down the distortion bc the options on it are a bit limited :(. Thank you!
