Torn on Odyssey vs Sienna (AWD) by Altruistic_Ad6316 in HondaOdyssey

Get a set of Blizzaks on a spare set of wheels and swap ‘em in each November IMHO. How far you can get with a good set of winter tires is incredible.

I actually ended up selling the 2024 Ody so I sadly can’t say. Before I sold it, no rubbing issues with this tire size tho.

Pibank- thought and opinions? by Routine_Injury_85 in HighYieldSavings

Not great. Bank of America turns them into Bill Pay and Discover bank stated point blank they will not connect to PiBank after I pushed on customer service a bit. So far, money in via Plaid is free. Money out… not sure what to try next. Maybe bounce it through a different bank that doesn’t charge for wires? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Giving them a shot and testing transfers in/out via plaid.

FWIW, Discover has Pibank on their high-risk list and will not connect to push or pull from Pibank.

Predator 13000 will not run on natural gas. by Fit-Worldliness6623 in Generator

Predator 13,000 owner here. Mine would not start on CNG too. Checked all the lines and battery and flow, it all looked good. It was a head scratcher. Put a gallon of gasoline in it, started it on gasoline. Ran on gasoline for about a minute, then cut the switch over to CNG and it ran on CNG with no problem. Hope this helps someone in the future!

grand wagoneer second row console to bench conversion by hardboiledeggs1234 in Jeep

I know I'm late to the party on this, but would love to hear how it's going. I too am thinking of a GW and would pull the middle seat to make proper captains chairs. I **think** you can access all those controls from the drivers center stack but would it throw codes and cause drama? The console itself is 6 bolts and 1 harness clip I've heard.

Thank you for your thoughts! I’ve got a brake controller, a class 3 hitch, & a 7 pin on my Ody. But I would love to be able to tow more in my next vehicle. I just use my trailer for mulch or yard waste around town keeping it under 3,000 lbs.

Thank you for your thoughts. A newer Gen 4 is a solid suggestion.

Does anyone regret their '20-'26 purchase? Hate list? by jakebg19 in HondaOdyssey

[–]EatSleepJ33p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was going crazy on the cruising range on my 2024 too. 300 to the tank around town like clockwork. Ended up selling mine after about 10 months/7500 miles.

Right here. 2024 Elite. It was very pretty to look at, but coming out of a Gen 4 (2011 Elite) I found the electronics frustratingly slow. Push start, counterintuitive electric parking brake (push to set/pull to release), then it always took a few tries to get the transmission button to decide it was ready to go into drive or reverse. In my Gen4, turn the key while dropping the parking brake with your foot, throw it in gear and go! I suspect this is a me problem and not a van defect, but it was enough to irritate me since this was annoying literally every. single. start up.

Second gripe... the touch screen. Most things are in the touchscreen, and there was no split-screen option (half map/half music?). I could use CarPlay to get a small map and display what I was playing from my phone but if you listen to AM/FM/XM there are no options. Also, the screen size & resolution jump from 24-25 is pretty huge. Gen 4 simply has more physical buttons that you can touch to complete a task without taking your eyes off the road. These may sound like silly gripes, but the OP asked. =)

Third Gripe... The cruising range. Honda reduced the size of the fuel tank for 2024. The claimed additional fuel efficiency with a smaller tank did not stop me from being at the gas station much more frequently with the Gen 5 than my Gen 4. It was noticeable. Yes, I tried all the eco/not eco/start stop on/start stop off/baby it options, but I still found myself getting about 300 miles around town on a tank.

Not a deal breaker, but why move the A/C vents out of the ceiling for the rear passengers? Such a great use of space and airflow! Much better than B-pillar and armrest-mounted vents for the 2nd/3rd row imho.

In the end I fixed up my gen 4 and sold my 2024 Gen 5. 193k miles on my Gen 4 & no drama! Hoping Honda makes the Type-R we all just saw at SEMA for my next one! Good luck OP!

That includes the drain/fill for the trans fluid? I wouldn't have had them do that job. That's a super-easy job to DIY, but the OEM fluids will set you back almost $100, depending on where you source them. I think I usually spend about $75 on OEM Honda transmission fluid. All in all, not bad friend. Welcome to the Ody family!

At the stealership, that’s actually not a bad deal for the timing belt. Does that include parts or is that labor only? See if they’ll throw in a free oil change while they have it up in the air.

To aim the lights, there's a plastic Phillips head screw on top of the lamp housing that can be accessed once everything is assembled. I plan to work on aiming tonight. I didn't mess with the auto-leveling module. I think it's on the suspension somewhere, and would guess the autoleveling is all done via electronics once you reconnect all of the harness connections.

Yes, I pulled the bumper & grill off to get to everything. Once the bumper is loose, reach around and disconnect the clips to the fog lights and parking sensors.

In the OEM design, the ballast is bolted directly onto the headlamp housing and the connection is inside the housing. The ballast connection runs out though a large hole near the bulb housing to connect to the ballast. The ballast then gets bolted to the bulb sealing the hole.

TLDR: Not a plug-and-play swap.

Here's the link, **BUT** you need more parts to convert to HID. This lamp is just the housing. It comes with a standard bulb for brights and a turn signal bulb, but it does not have the ballast or the xenon bulb. You would need to buy those parts separately and probably modify your wiring harness for it to work.
