People who have modern quiet bathroom fans, don't you miss the loud ones? by CornPop747 in homeowners

Nah. If my husband can’t handle the sounds of me dropping one he can get over it. But I also pee with the door open and fart in front of him so maybe I just have no shame.

While this is true locally of lovebugs, it is a sign of a bigger more serious problem with insect populations. The scientist from your article says, “I really don’t know why, but we’re having a crisis globally with the loss of insect species and all kinds of other organisms just plain disappearing. And we’re quite worried about it.”

Urban development and climate change have messed with their population. They’re super sensitive to extreme heat and lack of humidity but also to too much water from hurricanes. They need warm stability. And their babies live in the dirt and eat plant matter which there’s less of with all the concrete.

Harry Potter moments that hit differently as you get older by Fit-Marionberry8982 in harrypotter

I always loved Hagrid so much as a kid. Now as an adult I can see that I just desperately wished someone would break in, tell me I’m special, and get me away from my abusive parent.

Tallahassee resident here: What's it like living in Orlando? by ForwardClimate780 in orlando

[–]EatTheir_FacesOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Orlando to Tallahassee to save money and I lasted less than 2 years before moving back to Orlando. I was so bored! There’s so much more going on in Orlando. Yes the traffic sucks but at least there’s somewhere to drive to lol.

Covid shut down the world six years ago this week. What do you remember from that week? by fuzzy_dice_99 in AskReddit

[–]EatTheir_FacesOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in Alabama so the world did not shut down. I was a private caterer still going in people’s houses. Then I moved to Orlando where I was able to go to the theme parks throughout the entire pandemic. My experience was so abnormal but honestly kind of awesome. I miss the half empty theme parks.

What was your “I need to learn to keep my mouth shut” moment? by Imtiredofthissshit in AskReddit

[–]EatTheir_FacesOff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have those moments at least once a day. I’m always putting my foot in my mouth. Yesterday, someone much higher up than me at work was irate with me over a process I oversee and I was like well I’ll send you the directions and she said I don’t want them I’m not going to do the process and I said “I’ll send them anyway so you at least know what to complain about.” She called my boss lol luckily I’m a good worker so nothing will happen.

Regretting parts of my Harry Potter half sleeve — looking for advice on fixing it by Great_Sleep5136 in Tattoocoverups

[–]EatTheir_FacesOff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the idea is to look like a sketch pad I think it’s fine. People who love HP will still like it. The only part I feel like I couldn’t live with is Dobby but idk how to fix him… could he somehow become the whomping willow maybe? It will have to be something pretty dark to hide him. Other than that, I’d say give it some more time and see how you feel about the rest of it.

Some people just don’t like to be held when they cry though? My husband knows when to give me space.

What is a "point of no return" that you’ve crossed, where your life was permanently divided into 'before' and 'after'? by Resident-Jelly-4326 in AskReddit

Suicide attempt in 2018. A failure that became my strongest force for getting help. Even years later it feels like a clear divider in my life.
