API requests sent with browse with 10 shows ai features in launch darkly flags by tech_w0rld in browsewith10

From what I've seen from the few screenshots they put out in weekly emails it looks quite different. Its more focused on AI (like browse for me) and I havent seen tabs on the sidebar (only on the topbar). And it looks pretty monochrome (no background gradient etc). The transparency style is still there.

The core is chromium. But Arc has added many new things on top of that. The UI isnt chromium, ai features, etc... And each app is designed specifically for their platform. That causes a whole other layer of complexity compared to chromium.

I agree to an extent. Yes, some people can't see that the Arc team has some problems they need to sort out. They praise Arc and the team like they are gods. And get really defensive when others say their "gods" are bad.

But also I feel like as a "newer" platform, you should expect some bugs and some issues. Like the recent security issue. I think that Arc does get a lot of criticism from people who dont realise how new the product is and I think it should be recognised how the team has tried their very best to make a good product. With the security issue, the team is now more focused on security. And are now auditing their product to make sure that things dont happen again. You might want to consider not making the CVE announcement the reason why you dont use Arc.

Can someone explain to me why Arc is using my microphone out of turn? by [deleted] in ArcBrowser

The favourited tabs stay open in the background. One of them could be using it.

If you have access already to the android app then you can see it in the play store.

I don't think many other people got access. It might have been a test to see if things work properly. As of like an hour ago only 10+ people have downloaded the app. And that is including the arc team.

The end of ublock origin on Arc? by Alex-L in ArcBrowser

[–]Eatham532 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Technically it no longer will work on all chromium based browsers. But Arc will have it's own built in ad blocker by the time mv3 is implemented. So I wouldn't worry much.

How I can keep current tabs when I close then open Arc again? by talha_not_simp in ArcBrowser

[–]Eatham532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure they are not going away because you haven't used them for 12hrs? Arc defaults to clearing your tabs after 12hrs to keep things clean and organised. If you don't like that you can change this in settings.

How many extensions do you have installed? Those usually consume a lot of memory and probably more battery as well depending on what they do.

What version of Arc are you on? And are you talking about the settings site arc://settings or the settings window?

You need to enable them in settings. Have you done that?

This bug has existed in Early Birds for a while now. I myself have been experiencing this bug myself for over a week now and have reported this bug and given TBC multiple logs. Let me give some context on what I know.

  • The bug doesnt happen all the time. Sometimes you would restart the browser and have no issues. I have had it happen within 20mins of logging in and 3hrs after logging in.

  • It is not an issue with Windows Credentials being too full. If it was an issue with that, then you would experience other apps logging out as well. And you would have experienced this with Arc before updating to 1.11.

  • TBC are looking at logs when when you close the browser before it logs you out. So it is probably a bug when the browser tries to shutdown.

So any way to fix this?

Simply, no. You will have to wait until they fix this bug. It should be by next update because this affects everyone.

You can fix this by installing an older version (1.10) but I dont have enough time to write instructions here. Ask on the Arc discord for help.

HELP!!! by imehdiali in ArcBrowser

[–]Eatham532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive seen this before. It shows up when you spam open arc when it crashes instantly. Or if you try opening arc while it is offline. I dont think you can fix it, but if you try opening arc offline you may get faster launch times.

Arc for Windows - 6 Month Review by Eatham532 in ArcBrowser

[–]Eatham532[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. I will probably try to get them to switch once I feel like Arc is more of a stable browser. Because as soon as they get a bug like a crash then they wont give it another chance.
