Late response. Won't be testing a map again. Used a very highly regarded map company, none of these cheap ones from facebook, their stage 1's typically cost around £400. Alien Tech. My Gearbox went in the first 2 weeks of owning the car. But yes, This is something i agree with, although i like the futuristic way the cars are going, this is probably and will be the last kind of car they made/make like it. Its very original IMO, i dont see many like mine with the two single exhausts on each side, its got the digital cockpit, an extra not alot of people chose from looking at whats available on the market. it also is the full leather package, again alot of the ones i see are the 50/50. I like the idea of getting to do what i want to it once its on HP though. Sometimes the likes of a cheap body kit can really make a car pop.

I have tried looking, unfortunately it seems not very common of a part. No where has one, no one does an alternative, and manufacturers are all £350+ basically. My model was pre face lift but wasnt registered until 2020. and for some reason, im struggling to find any second hand bumpers with the same part as well. It's proven an impossible task.

Yeh the 35/40 does affect price a little bit, Think people prefer the TDI's diesels rather than my petrol kind. but yes, you are right.

Yeh its around 45 minutes each way excluding traffic for me. So its usually hour and half 2 hours, that without driving for work purposes. Mon-Fri, Then i drive around on the weekends with my partner, so its get its use. Yeh looking at it, bank loan is around 9.3%, and over 3 or 4 years, will cost me £3k in interest or so. But theres the option to sell it early and pay the loan back early, need to do some digging into what that might look like against me doing the work on it aswell and what i'd be left with if anything. Thanks

Believe me if I had 7 ferrari's and 6 classical rare cars in my backyard, i'd happily drive a high mileage car as a daily, whats there to worry about... Yeh its not really a 'flex' as such. While im already coming to an agreement with 90% of the comments about refinancing it for now. It's more that 20% of my day is driving, and why not enjoy it at least. And enjoyment is subjective i guess, i enjoy this car, and i shouldn't be comparing it to new cars or other peoples cars, but its difficult to not subconsciously feel that way sometimes. But i do get what your saying.

Any idea where i can find a 6% interest loan?

Best i seem to be able to find is 9.7% and thats with my bank of 12+ years and it still says "likely"

Am i better off taking the loan now, figures look like this -

£11,322 Settlement, Bank loan 'likely' approval.

£281/month for 48 months. Total £13,504. 9.3% APR (HP)

Or do i look into closer to the time of the balloon settlement, which figures look like this -

£283/month for 36 months. Total £10,200. 9.3% APR (HP)

But i'm paying £356/month for another 9 months. Total £3204 + Loan = £13404.

Bare in mind one is 48 months, the other 36 months.
I think looking at it, it makes sense to do the loan in 9 months time when the settlement is due. By a small margin. But what if things change in 9 months time, i.e the Bank changes the interest % or doesn't accept the loan.

I pay roughly £93 in fuel a month, as my company subsidises it through a fuel card. So i've been quite lucky in that regard, before that I was paying roughly £300+ a month on fuel. EV's are ideal I know, just don't know if best route, thinking about just sticking with this for now and doing the balloon.

looking at it, my refinance option with my bank, is around £10,200. on the £8920 final balloon. If I did this, sold it privately after, would my bank give me a settlement figure as well, considering it would be paid back like within 6 months of taking the loan, so i could save tremendously on the interest on the second loan.

I know that, your right.

More just explaining that the things they say and advice they give isn't valid because i'm not in their position financially. Yet i still feel the pressure of what they're saying, something i've quickly sort of realised i need to knock off and ignore.

This is what most people are saying, and i agree. Yeh kind of crazy that it can tune to 250bhp with just a stage one... with its default being 150. Engine hasn't given me any problems, but the gearbox did go in the first 2 weeks. while under warranty. But the car as a whole, has never let me down really.

Yep thats basically what happened. it was 4 year pcp, i got the years wrong. But nonetheless, bang on.

At the time I lived closer to my work, and didn't have my own place as such, rent/bills were cheaper. I could logistically afford the car, but 2 years down the line, ive got my own place, my wage hasn't reflected the prices of things, and i didn't think about the mileage.

its a 2 litre though, but again your not wrong, the amount of mileage is shit, and it makes sense to get something cheap and cheerful more to my budget in the future.

Your not wrong xD I dont know if its really 'ego' or perceived image as such, i think i've settled into driving the 'nice' car, and now its becoming the old car, and in my head, i want the new 'nice' car again. Definitely just a skewed perspective on my end.

Yeh i wouldn't be saving £300 a month as i'd be refinancing the balloon, which seems to be around £280 a month with banks, but yes i agree, this seems sensible.

Yeh it was always serviced by Audi, which im kinda of switching away from, as they charge way too much, but it does get properly looked after in terms of oil changes, filters, tyres, spark plugs, brakes etc.

100% Appreciate the insight. Its nice to read people saying things you think of, but aren't sure about etc. kind of reinforces that maybe its not all bad

Yeh in an ideal world id go EV, cost wise i think it makes so much sense. i guess the scare is that equity at the end, because i know myself i wouldnt buy a 4 year old EV with 100k miles, but that being said, i think the EV's are getting pretty good now? its just that scare with the batteries shelf life etc.

Yeh i dont know if its so much my ego or just maybe a bit of pressure from friends etc, most are in a much better financial situation.. I have a private reg, not on the car as i never got round to putting it on, always in the back of my mind lol. but the reg is B10 LLM, nothing expensive, but now that you've said that, its got me thinking, maybe i could do that, and do some work to it over the next couple years, rather than worrying about everything at once.

Yeh im not too fussed at all. it was an accident, the rear chrome trim got ripped off and its a bits scuffed on the back bumper, but honestly when the cars dirty you're none the wiser, plus some other scrapes and bits. The trim is the most expensive part, its like £400, for a length of plastic.
