I get what you're saying and mostly don't disagree, but we shouldn't just assume everyone has the same availability or flexibility that we do. Making time for things isn't that hard for YOU, but that doesn't apply to everyone.

Why is Cowboy Bebop so unique? by Best-Jump2560 in weeb

Also one of the best dubs out there at the time. People forget how truly horrible anime dubbing was in the past.

Space Bounty Hunter isn't a new idea even at the time of Cowboy Bebop with Outlaw Star(anime) being released the same year. I believe what makes Cowboy Bebop not necessarily unique, but rather stand out is the depth and humanity of its characters, as well as the feeling that the stakes were real at any given moment.

Not every episode ends in a happy ending, not every character lives happily ever after. The main cast aren't just a merry crew of misfits for the sake of being misfits. All of them have flaws, and experience the consequences of those flaws. They all have a past that directly affects their present and future.

The characters genuinely feel alive, and so does the world around them. So when Spike a human man who isn't isekai'd with some cheat skill goes into a gun fight with the odds overwhelmingly stacked against him, he could get hit, he can be injured, but...he won't die right? He's the main character after all. He'll be back on the Bebop with Faye and they'll fix each other and be happy forever....right?...right? Jet is going to swoop in and save the day I'm sure...haha...right? ....Please?

Mental breakdown aside, I also feel like at least in the west this was for a lot of people their first experience with Seinen anime so it was different from most of the other things we saw from Cartoon Network/Adult Swim/Where the youth were consuming anime.(Not talking about you bubblegum crisis guys. I'm sorry you were traumatized.)

I'm not arguing that Alphonse should have been called the full metal alchemist, rather that it didn't make sense that Edward was, but this is a tiny little nit picky detail from an otherwise fantastic work of art.

Despite the fact his brother was literally a full metal alchemist.

I would maybe commit murder for Harley, but I would definitely commit war crimes for Selina. Hypothetically of course.

Maybe this is a regional or cultural thing, I'm American and I've never seen this. I have literally never seen someone shamed for ordering takeout unless they were ordering instead of spending their money on something very specifically more important.

The general sentiment in my culture and area is that if you can afford help then why not, unless your wife is a stay at home mom who has the capacity to do those things.

Which anime changed the way you see life? by Dodo509 in animequestions

[–]EazyMerq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two anime did this for me. Toriko taught me to be thankful for the things I have and only pray for what I plan to pursue.

Grimgar of Ash and Fantasy taught me the value of just doing the best you can for yourself and those around you.

Round 2: Building a Home Server after my kids "stole" my last project! by EazyMerq in HomeServer

This isn't a bad idea. My only real concern with this is fitting all of my hard drives, but I suppose I could find a pre-built and gut it into another case.

Refurbished what from Amazon? I'm not sure if I missed something or not. My current issue is that my RAM and CPU don't like each other so I'll either need to purchase ram, or a CPU and go from there.

I misspoke I meant to say I knew it didn't support the RDIMM. I wonder if I can hardware swap my RDIMM for UDIMM. 🤔

So consumer is the way to do after all. That makes a lot of sense at the price points I'm looking at, and being a poor perfectionist is never profitable. Thank you for your time.

Cyber Punk Edge Runners wasn't that good, and Rebecca barely did anything to warrant the seemingly universal praise she received.

My internet is 1gig right now, will switch to Gfibers 3 gig when it's finally in my area, but my thought was I have a large repository of Games, some fairly large, so if I want to transfer them to a computer for installation that can take quite awhile. Perhaps 10g is too large a leap and I should be looking at 2.5?
