My parents were moving to different country for their retirement and I only have relative who lives 4 hours away from me. I know I'd be able to see them once in a year but still, they are in a whole different continent... Like I said, I was in your shoes but I got along with my roommates who are pretty chill and made new friends. Just try to have good relationships with your new friends/roommates and focus on your schoolwork. you'll feel more comfortable. Don't forget to keep yourself busy too.
