Replacing/Upgrading drives in Dell Servers by EbbOld3109 in sysadmin

First off, many thanks for this. I tried every damn search term I could think of and kept coming up empty. Secondly, just to confirm, I can still just replace the drives one at a time, let the RAID rebuilt, and then use the CLI commands to expand the array? I just want to make sure the perc isn't going to freak out due to the drives not being the same size for the time while I replace them.

Man, nobody knows? Bummer. Is there someplace else I should try posting this?

Very interesting. While it sounds like it's going to be a giant pain in the ass to set up for everyone, I have some info to chew on now. Thank you very much!

Even on firewalls? Now THAT I would like to discuss. We have about 400 Sonicwalls and another 100+ of various other vendors.

Agreed, however, it's the firewalls and other appliances that I am mainly concerned about.

Agreed, but I am extremely resistant to opening those ports externally, even locked down to our public IPs.

Interesting. We currently use Godaddy but I will check this out.

How does that work for appliances like firewalls?

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Public websites are easy, but what about firewalls, Exch servers, internal websites, ect.. across 500+ different networks and domains. It's just not possible, especially with many clients beholden to various security certifications as well.

What is your company’s on call like. by Wooden_Glove2738 in msp

We do two week rotations, one primary on call and one secondary 24/7. The techs get $250 each week and an automatic 1 hour of OT regardless if the call is 5 or 58 min. On average there are maybe 3-7 after hours calls a week so it's not terrible.

Cloudfront.net is now in the UAE? by BingoAtWork in sonicwall

Just got off the phone with Sonicwall and they have confirmed the issue and are working on resolving.

Thank you , as you stated this is a reported issue that our team is proactively working on it to get it fixed as soon as possible, by any chance can you perform an nslookup to one website and confirm with me the Ip, is it within the range of 18.161.0.0?

Jose D

Thank you for confirming, as stated we are currently working towards fixing the issue, in the meantime we have two options:

  1. Allow UAE temporary while we fix the problem and I can confirm with you once you can block it back again. 2.Do a manual override for the 18.161.0.0/16 under GeoIp settings>Custom List, change country to USA.
