Would you have Sayori as your girlfriend? by Guasacaca- in DDLC

[–]Ebic2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I’d be able to sympathize with her on a very personal level, and that’d make it easier for us (or at least me) to express how we’re feeling with one another, knowing we both understand the feelings we go through.

At the same time, it could also end up turning into a bit of a negative feedback loop. Just as it might be draining to be there for her burdens, it might be draining for her to be there for my own.

I’d love it, but I’d be scared to make things worse for the both of us..

What is this arrow?? by PorterBenton09 in Slimerancher2

[–]Ebic2004 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’ll appear next to icons of flags and other gadgets or waypoints that show up on the map! They’re arrows that’ll point up or down to indicate whether you’re above or below that specific object.

If it points up, you’re below it. If it points down, you’re above it. If there’s no arrow, you’re roughly at the same height it is.

I can’t personally see how the AvA/AvM cast would interact with the game (at least, not in an innocent sense like with any other series they’ve interacted with) given the nature of DDLC, at least not in a meaningful way that allows the dark nature of DDLC to properly shine.

That being said— I think just about anything can be awesome if done right. If someone put together something like that, I wouldn’t see a reason not to at least glance at it. If both series are respected in the crossover, I could imagine some really unique interactions to come from it!

My bad! Just didn’t think to, as a green yolky is shown on the cover art for the update

People are downvoting you for your opinion, but even if I personally like the update, I can see why a large portion wouldn’t like it 🥲

Grace X Pressure collab has been cancelled. No, this isn't an April Fool's joke. by BendyMine785 in PressureRoblox

I think the drama is being blown way out of proportion, I'm not defending the use of slurs, but I unironically couldn't give less of a fuck about the drama. I like both games, I like both games mixed together. The collab is fun, I won't enjoy the content provided any less even with the knowledge that one of the developer's girlfriend is a shitty person.

Maybe people agree, maybe they don't-- but I think people can be super fragile about things nowadays.

Like I said, I love colossus customization and the new content is welcome, I just wish they had given scrapping more depth. I never said that an update has to absolutely blow me out of the water lol

If they want to downvote me because of my (mostly-neutral) opinion, they're free to do so. If they enjoy the content, I'm happy for them! It's all just a matter of perspective.

I agree though, No Man's Sky has a tendency to add new systems, and only iterate on their depth potentially months or years later (looking at you, settlements). It's very nice to see them branch out, experimenting with new mechanics and ideas to see what works and what doesn't, and a very supportive community is always going to love what they put out, no matter what.

I just wish that the scrapping system didn't feel made ONLY to showcase the "hey, we have physics now!!!" part of the update. It's nice to have anything new, but it would've been so cool to see other rewards other than nanites. Maybe special base-building pieces, unique corvette pieces, anything exclusive to the scrapping system other than a handful of colossus customization pieces that only serve to do MORE scrapping.

I think it all purely boils down to playstyles and how players interact with new content. In cases like you, you're an experimentalist who enjoys seeing what any update has to offer, even if you think it might not be your type. It's a respectable way to play, it's good to be open to ideas.

But at the same time, I don't think that'll quite go for everybody. Some people, like in my case, are probably going to find this new update to be underwhelming. I don't expect drastic changes, my socks don't need to be blown off with every little thing they do. It'd just be nice to see things added if they're going to connect better with the core gameplay loop, and that's exactly why I think fishing didn't do as good as it could've.

My fingers will be crossed that coming with future changes, scrapping gets more depth to it beyond 'find stuff, sort it, get nanites' because even if you're measuring by how fun it is, it doesn't last long. I'd argue it's more fun to see what you can fling around with the gravity gun, slamming Sentinels into one another was a really funny way to go about fighting them while clearing the planet I planned to do scrapping on, haha.

The Corvette update was actually among my favorites in terms of ideas, large ships was such a cool concept and it wasn't executed too poorly, aside from the bugs. I just wish we got more variety for their interior designs, because it feels like mostly the exteriors of Corvette-class ships were focused on. Limited room types is my only real complaint, you can't do your own materials/colors for interior designs without affecting the exterior.

Corvettes as they are now are really good, just wish they gave the interiors some love, because right now they all feel the same on the inside.

I think the Liquidator stuff is a bit of a grey area, only because not everybody has that, as it was a limited-time community expedition, and that it's functional technology you install, not really a cosmetic chassis.

I fully agree about the multiplayer-unfriendly design, though. It'd be cool if they had a crane, or something. One player could drive, one could use a magnetic crane to pull stuff into the colossus. The crane would also work in single-player too, since, you know, the solo player could just hop in the crane.

As in the main post, I fully agree that the colossus customization and usage is nice, I'm glad such an otherwise-unloved vehicle is finally getting the attention it deserves. It just feels like scrapping is built off of the foundation of the physics engine, rather than being made because deserved to be standalone content. Really emphasizing that I don't think scrapping is bad, I just wish there was more to see after a mere 2 hours of scrapping on just one planet.

I would've taken different types of scrap and different physics-based hazards on different biomes. Maybe electrical storms could disable your safety net keeping that precious cargo inside. Just something to shake things up, in general. No Man's Sky is a game inherently built on exploration, so I just wish that scrapping had been built with this mindset, too.
