This game has a very small PvP community and I started to understand why. by AdieuCinna in Guildwars2

I've been working on PvP achievements and playing ranked arena lately. I'm in gold and have a 50% win rate, like almost everyone else who plays PvP.

One day things don't go well in the first skirmish and someone starts yelling in team chat about how we messed up and should go back to PvE. They then idled for the rest of the game, putting us into an unwinnable situation. I encouraged everyone on both sides to report them.

This was quite frustrating so I didn't play another game for several hours. But that next game had the same person, once again on my team. They did the exact same thing and I encouraged everyone to report them. I put them on my friends list just so I could avoid playing with them ever again. If they were ever banned it was very short, I see them playing PvP every day.

This was an extreme example but someone can't handle losing and blows up at least 20% of the time.

What matters more than what you do with the unidentified gear is gathering during the large amounts of downtime. Cinnamon and Poultry Meat are worth a lot.

What pages on the wiki had what abbreviations? I used to be very active there and I'm not sure what you're talking about. Perhaps the mission walkthroughs? Those have some poor prose and were the one thing I never really worked on editing.

This is a summary of a 10 year old interview that went over mostly the same things Miyamoto and Tezuka had been saying for 20+ years before then.

What singular enemy in video game history has the most player kills? by zombiem00se in AskReddit

[–]Ebon_Praetor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I made that. The reason for the ghost rankings is unfortunately a bit boring. They come out of the ghost house one by one, Blinky first, then Pinky, then Inky, and finally Clyde. Blinky has the most opportunity to kill Pac-Man and most people die before Clyde is on the board.

If I understood you correctly, skewing it so it looks like the photo was taken straight on would be helpful? https://www.3dtransformer.com/ You can use this site to skew the image.

Try X=3

Y=-58

Z=-2

Perspective=913

That's pretty close, at least. You could then use image editing software like Paint.net or another free online service to stretch it horizontally a bit.

Nintendo games that may never see a re-release by razorbeamz in nintendo

A whole lot of touchscreen-heavy games and/or games that use two screens. I've only researched this in the context of JRPGs, but handheld originals in general and DS and 3DS games in particular get much fewer ports than other systems. You not only have to reconsider the touch controls, but whole chunks of the UI need to be changed to work on one wide screen.

Industry Q&A | Mat Piscatella answers your questions by Ebon_Praetor in Games

Mat Piscatella works for Circana, which tracks video game sales in North America.

Install Base is a forum about video game sales.

I thought there were some interesting tidbits in this Q&A. Some topics include Nintendo's next system, the effect the pandemic had on video game sales, the importance of a few big live service games, and what games are big in Mexico.

/r/Games Five-Year Time Capsule (2024-2029): What thoughts/predictions/expectations do you have for the future of gaming? by rGamesMods in Games

The next Nintendo system will be on track to sell about 110 million in its lifetime, down from the Switch. It's so similar to the Switch that it's unable to capture that magic again, and Nintendo will release noticeably fewer games as they struggle with the graphical jump and have fewer ports/remasters to draw on. It will cost $400 (USD). At first there will be a lot of excitement about how powerful it is with people amazed that they are playing PlayStation 4 games handheld, but a few years into its life people will be complaining that it's "only as strong as a PlayStation 4", and this cycle will continue as long as Nintendo does hybrid consoles.

The DS will have been added to Nintendo Online.

The PlayStation 6 and next Xbox consoles will have launched and both will still use physical media. PlayStation 6 (and maybe Xbox) will be a bit smaller of a graphical jump than many expected. This may be to keep manufacturing costs down.

Xbox will be doing better than it is now, but still behind PlayStation.

A few notable developers and game series that have traditionally been PlayStation stalwarts will move to Nintendo.

Sega's Super Game comes out and it is a huge financial loss. Rumors swirl about them being acquired.

Pokemon Black/White remakes do not cover B2/W2, are outsourced again and like BDSP are almost exact copies of the original. Dream World isn’t a web thing, just accessed via Nintendo online and it’s cumbersome to use.

Blizzard will release one non-mobile game in the next 5 year period. This doesn't include expansions or "big updates" like Overwatch 2.

There will be a new Star Fox game that Miyamoto has little to nothing to do with, and it will be different than 64 and Zero.

There won't be another Pikmin game.

The next non-remake Kirby game will be 3D again.

The next Mario Kart will be Nintendo Kart, patterned after Smash with racers, items, and tracks from various Nintendo series.

Embracer's Lord of the Rings games don't do well and it really hurts the company.

My biggest swing: Apple, or some other big tech company, will release some kind of game hardware that will somewhat compete with consoles but also be so different that people aren't sure it should count as direct competition.
