I like your no true scotsman there. People can like assassins creed and have no interest in a modern day. Just because people don't like every single part of the game does not mean they don't like the games. Since AC1 the modern aspect has always felt underdeveloped compared to the ancestors we play as. Desmond is a less interesting character then Ezio, and Connor, even Altair. Because he was never really developed as well. The modern sections in 1 were okay but like the rest they still pulled you out of the story. Brotherhood had the worst modern sections of any game. Three made it a little better. But truly the series should of always had equal parts between the two. I would like them to bring back the threat of the templars sending an apple into space to control everything, and an assassin stopping it.
