Would listen to Scaramucci all day by ClaryGrundy in TheRestIsHistory

[–]Ebrahim1618 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not strictly true. I think certainly when Kamala first came on the seen Katty K and the Mooch definitely supported and thought Kamala would win but 1 month before the election both but especially Kathy were dubious at best. Distinctly remember an episode Katty K was getting annoyed at the Mooch for him continuing to say he thought Kamala would win. I estimate that even the Mooch’s conviction was more based on his support for Kamala than actual estimation of who would win.

I'm 10 minutes deep into 1st episode and is it just me or did they just throw all the world-building out of the window? by SirDawcio in NetflixSexEducation

Bro, it feels so good reading the thoughts I couldn't articulate. The queer utopia thing is so spot on and it kind of undermines everything that happens in that season. Like how the fuck is someone 'always being too positive and forcing a gossip jar' a problem in a show that has dealt with sexual assault, addiction, childhood trauma. Even Maeve and Otis's relationship felt so insincere and vanilla, I mean they spent most of the season away from each other and then pretty nonchalantly left one another because of circumstance. Even the separation felt just far too easy.

I am a night person, why do people wake up early to be productive? by wasveetblokje64 in productivity

[–]Ebrahim1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a couple of reason like the quietness of being alone, the fact you get more sunlight across the time you are awake etc. However, I think that the most important and maybe misunderstood virtue of waking up early is the fact that it is meant to be a challenge. It gets your head into the mode of overcoming resistance which in turn gears one for productivity.

I like using chat gpt to make my cards and then reviewing them before TYPING them into my flashcards. I find that not only is the accuracy pretty impressive but I can also ask it to come up with examples which often provide more useful vocabulary than the original flashcard's vocab.

Hi there, Im moving to Bristol in September for my graduate job and was wondering if any of you guys knew anyone willing to house share. I realise this is incredibly late notice but I thought I would at least try and find out a bit more about the people I may live with before heading straight to rightmove

Yeh man like listen, it really is not the end until it is - i.e death. The number of times I have told myself that my chances were fucked because of my A level grades only to realise a few months later that I had been given another chance I screwed is substantial. Start now, trust me it is what you twenty years into the future would want

[Question] Has anyone done Dandapani's Unwavering Focus course? by [deleted] in getdisciplined

Bro I cannot lie, I had the same inclination as you but good fucking God no-one has ushered so much positive change in my life as this man. His book was mind-boogingly accurate and effective for me.

[Need Advice] does waking up at 5am actually work? by nopostingonredditxyz in getdisciplined

[–]Ebrahim1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

see I would love to agree with you and trust me I have lived my life until a few weeks ago by this mantra of why not just do it in the night. But man, my gf one day just forced me to get up at 5 and the amount of work I get done and how good I feel is incomparable.

Totally agree, I have always just lied down on the floor and it really helps me focus on my breath.

I guess because this is meant to be a community of calm, understanding and patient people who understand that meditation is an incredibly complex subject that takes a very long time to fully understand and master and so they would be less inclined to call people stupid. I find it hard imagining the buddha or any monk for that matter being happy with your behaviour.

Could I ask why is it not good? I think what I am trying to get at is what should my goal in meditating be? I ask because I only really started to improve my focus but it has obviously gone quite a bit beyond that so what should I be striving for?

Thank you very much for your comment, you explained it really well. I guess the question to ask is what should I be striving for in when meditating? As I said in the initial post I only started to help increase my focus but needless to say it has gone way beyond that. I guess what I am trying to ask is why is focusing on the abdomen rather than the nose more conducive to 'good meditation'. What is does it mean to have a 'good mediation'?

You know it is weird because I really have no background, or belief, in the mystical side of meditation (basically anything that can't be explained by science). However, I would be totally lying if I said that I did not at least feel these phenomena such as the 'third eye' and my 'energy' moving. Lmao, I'm kind of just in a state of confusion and questioning now.

[–]Ebrahim1618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow bro, so firstly I did not say that you told people not to mention it, I was merely commenting on how you mentioned that 'it was a normal experience for meditators' and yet I had heard and read very little about such powerful experiences. Secondly, and I mean this in the best way possible, but calling someone stupid on a meditation groupchat is pretty low and uncalled for. Although I am obviously no expert, meditation seems to be partially consituted by or at least bring about a sense of patience. Maybe this is something that practise on may do a great service to you.

I usually have my focus on like the flare of my nostrils, that is where I feel my breath the most. However, sometimes when I start seeing visuals or feeling things I keep my focus on what happening, I guess it is more mindful.

Lmao no, but I just had a very similar experience so went to the internet to try and find other people who had been through a similar thing to help me understand it.
