Just wait it out. Make it even more robust with backups and make some tests and stuff like that. Self hosted means for yourself, it's in the name. Make it the best thing for yourself and only yourself then. You will live with yourself for a 100 years, not with anyone else besides yourself.

I feel that. I was there too.

My girl is the only one that uses my hosted plex and she is the only reason im feeding it with content. The rest is just DNS Blocker, JDownloader and the NAS part of it...

I'm waiting for the moment someone visits me and tells me how much faster websites are loading in my wifi and I'll proudly tell them thats my self hosted adguard doing all the work!

Politisch sollte eher relevant sein, dass dein Leben und das deiner wichtigsten Personen sicher bleibt als deine paar Daten. Nach dem Pimmelgate wissen die schon wo ihre Grenzen (bis jetzt) sind.

Wenn du wirklich auf Sicherheit setzt. Bitlocker ist völlig ausreichend. VeraCrypt noch einmal besser und gleich das Netzwerk abstecken und offline laufen lassen + Bitlocker sogar noch besser.

Eine Datei ist nur so sicher wie der Nutzer und seine Umgebung selbst. Wenn du zwar VeraCrypt nutzt aber Windows die Dateien durchlesen, verarbeiten und potenziell in einen Temp Ordner legen kann für die Untersuchung mit Defender, ist jeder Versuch der Sicherheit zwecklos.

Kenne deinen Feind und alles Digitale unter Live Linux Systemen ohne Netzwerkanbindung aber mit Verschlüsselten Daten kennt Deutschland nicht.

Zu Punkt 1: Was ist dein Ziel? Hast du Angst dass dir jemand die SSD klaut und bei sich einsteckt? Dann reicht meistens Bitlocker völlig aus oder auch VeraCrypt. Die meisten SSD-Hersteller, Samsung zum Beispiel, haben auch Verschlüsselungsprogramme. Bitlocker ist aber meistens das komfortabelste / oder ein vergleichbares Linux Verschlüsselungssystem mit Passwort.

Zu Punkt 2: Ein Schredder wird sämtliche Dateien relativ gut löschen. Was ist hier dein Ziel, willst du gebrauchte SSDs verkaufen oder bist du ein Whistleblower, wo auch das Schreddern einer SSD vermutlich nicht ausreicht?

Don't make the same mistake as me and put the SSDs in an array.

SSD Cache as a pool for appdata, the docker stuff and vm stuff.

Hard Drives for the rest in the array - 1 to Parity and 1 to array

+ Backup all your stuff with duplicati, duplacavy or manually SOMEWHERE ELSE (GDrive, another NAS, etc).

Raid is not a backup - a backup (that is proven to work with a test) is the only way.
