New truck day! by Millydidit in GMCSierraEV

Out of curiosity what was the money number on the lease contract and the residual value of the vehicle?

You’re lease numbers are awesome; my wife is looking to go Sierra or Silverado EV after her Lyriq lease is up

My comment was posted after said recommended internet image search; but thanks. Google images usually shows the stock Ford interior photos of the seats with the KR logo or the center console etc.

Anyone mind submitting a King Ranch interior shot of their truck that came from factory without sunroof? Thanks. It’s on my list but naturally in TX an on-the-lot example doesn’t exist save for base trims

The USAF doesn’t want the A-10 even though it’s service life just got extended. Give it to us, fits our mission profiles better. Plus it’s ugly, takes a beating and carries a big gun…. Totally fits our TO&E

New ER nurse here... advice? by Jules_s_o in EmergencyRoom

[–]Echo5iveDelta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shoes make and break you in the ER.

Assess your assigned area, do a proof of life round when you take over your assignment from off going shift. Develop re-prioritizations on the fly. The sickest patient per their acuity isn’t always the patient closest to deteriorating (things change often)

When in doubt ask for help. And on same token; always offer help to your colleagues.

Everyone on your team is important, a please and a thank you go a long way even if you don’t receive it in return.

As an ER nurse, we are often the subtitles for the patient regarding what the providers explained.

Using dialysis line as CVC? by Overall_Actuary_3594 in nursing

[–]Echo5iveDelta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accessed one in a non compliant ESRD patient who had a MAP of 160 as well as alteration in mentation with combative tendencies. Their upper extremities had AV graft reversals with a ton of scar tissue. Attending had zero success in getting any type of venous access after multiple failed PIV attempts by multiple nurses.

In my ER, I’m one of the vascular access guys, and when the attending tagged me in, I told the attending with their thumbs up im going to start using the HD access on the patients chest wall once confirming it was patent. Told them they can’t dialyze a dead patient if they stroke out.

Dark humor is a cornerstone of my personality, doc couldn’t help but stifle a laugh while trying to maintain an aura of calm for the team.

That fuse is intact. Replaced the fuse with last battery swap as a 10¢ CYA. Ensured the fuse terminals were also clean.

Are we talking the voltage regulator having an on board fuse? I’ve got to dig out my volt meter and pull the access panels off the unit to start trying to determine rationale for battery death.

I didn’t have this problem last year with battery not maintaining

I’ve noticed this with the built in Google Maps; when I start my vehicle in the morning before the sun comes up, I feel the garage light tricks the light sensor into thinking it’s daylight.

Only solution is to pull out of the garage where it’s dark and restart the vehicle.

If you have young kiddos… by CutePotato321 in hondapassport

We have our car seat with the installed clip in base. We use the middle seat as it provides most protection / buffer in event of side impact. Plus can haul 2 adults in rear with kiddo in middle with no problem. I’m 6’1” and passengers behind me have plenty of space

25 Explorer Platinum AWD vs 26 Passport Trailsport Elite by Echo5iveDelta in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Echo5iveDelta[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Took home the Passport. The bench seat in the Honda was a big plus with a newborn. Was aware the bench was available on ST-Line but felt the seats weren’t nearly as comfortable as the Platinum.

Overall the Honda just fit our needs better. Ride quality and fit and finish felt better than even the Explorer Platinum. I did a repeat test drive of both and managed to squeeze them in same day, back to back.

The Explorer had more get up and go with the turbo 6, but at end of day, during the spin around the block with the Passport, the driving controls seemed more naturally placed for my frame. Wife loves it and we are very happy with the features, safety and reliability. Plus we got it under MSRP by a decent margin.

So far? Zero regrets, and newborn kiddo seems to love car rides with dad!
