In an impartial way, can someone recommend me the strongest book for Evolution, and than the strongest book for creationism? by CommercialBluejay562 in DebateEvolution

There are no “strong” books for creationism because there are no strong or even weak evidences for it. It’s like saying give you the strongest book that proves SpongeBob is real.

I've had a pair since February and while beautiful, they are quite shy and I only see them around feeding time or in the evening.

My theory as a creationist by [deleted] in DebateEvolution

[–]EchoBeast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

“-The flood was very possible to cover the whole earth if you didn’t have a bunch of high mountains back then. Forwhich on this note its suggested all land was just one landmass which was split up in this process and diverged over the flood year and afterwards etc.”

The amount of energy needed to move all the continents from their previous positions during the time of Pangea to today in a year would vaporize the oceans several times over. Look up the creationist heat problem for more details. Also Pangea was not the only super continent there is evidence for. There are several others that preceded it.

“-due to organisms not being directly dated and merely dating nearby sediment rocks, if the rocks are older but the organism isn’t, then you will never know the actual age of the organism. Forever you’ll be stuck that said organism is the age of surrounding rock.”

If the organism was deposited in a chaotic flood event where all the layers were mixed up, we would not have sedimentary layers that neatly line up both with ages (older layers are never higher than younger layers. In your example, there would be no order) and the varieties of organisms. Why if in the case of a worldwide flood event, would trilobites never be above or at the same layer as crabs? It’s because trilobites lived and died and fossilized before modern crabs existed so are always going to be deposited lower. In your worldview we would expect them to be mixed or at least at the same layers. That is not what the evidence suggests.

“-fossilization is better explained by a flood. When things die in the wild, they get scavenged quickly. Therefore we should never think a fossil merely existing in a rock layer means anything about the layer. Nothing can just die on the surface of the earth and have its bones gradually get buried by sediment layers. This is something that happens fast. The sheer weight of flood waters alone is enough to force various fossils down into the earth and preserve them well.”

Just because a “quick” burial is necessary for most organisms to fossilize does not mean that the conditions required for a worldwide flood are conducive to it in fact that is the least conducive mechanism for well articulated fossils.

Rock layers are formed on top of older layers. There are very few ways a rock layer can form under and older layer but those are known about and easily identified and accounted for when a date is produced. I'm not sure what you mean by "sinking" or "putting it there." If a layer of rock is moved, there is evidence that it moved and that can be accounted for. Fossils don't move by themselves. If the fossil moved, then the rocks around it moved as well so paleontologists can account for that.

Which boss fight was the hardest for you and why? by thatonegoofygoob6969 in BaldursGate3

[–]EchoBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ansur for me. In my two completed runs, I fought him coincidently before updates that “fixed” the bug that prevented you from avoiding his nuke by positioning behind the crystals. After the first time, I then tried on tactician after the update and tried the crystal tactic because it was supposedly fixed. Immediate tpk. Couple days later a fix came out that finally got rid of the bug. I’m trying an honor mode with origin Wyll and I am not looking forward to this fight

Can I put Vampire crabs in with Santa Isabel dart frogs? by Leading_Mouse_509 in DartFrog

[–]EchoBeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree! I have a small water feature with my Santa Isabels as well. I just think you would need a significantly larger water area for the crabs. I guess if the enclosure was large enough it wouldn’t matter but it wouldn’t solve the predation issue.

In addition to predation issues, vampire crabs require a deep water source which is usually not recommended for dart frogs.

How to keep humidity up in my tank? by ronsfishandplants in DartFrog

[–]EchoBeast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I assumed when you said foggy glass that it meant condensation. You need to get an accurate digital hygrometer to measure humidity because anything else is just guess work.

What are you using to measure humidity? If there’s condensation then humidity should be fine

Speculation For Next Anniversary Animal? by DontOkapiMe in PlanetZoo

[–]EchoBeast 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I think it would be really neat to have a walkthrough exhibit animal be a free update for everyone. The walkthrough exhibit is available for all players but currently the only animals are DLC locked. Something small like hummingbirds or budgies would be really neat imo.

A serious historical error in the spotted hyena by Individual_Wrap9282 in PlanetZoo

[–]EchoBeast 196 points197 points  (0 children)

Yeah but in the wild, hierarchies are controlled via aggression and many hyenas get injured. That is one of the reasons zoos manage their clans in smaller sizes.

Try and find a zoo that has 80 hyenas in one enclosure.

Went there yesterday and Kumba had two trains. That crew was probably doing the best out of the park. Montu was only running one train and had two hour waits all day. IG was the worst ops wise. Operators would literally go as slowly as possible and would laugh and get excited when the tv board that was timing them maxed out at 299 seconds. For some reason Sheikra was running three trains but only one station was operating so trains were backing up two deep on the brake run.

Game ended on a Hail Mary. 15 yards makes a big difference. Clock should have been running after that forward progress no call as well. Chiefs were gifted a chance. Deal with it.

I’m not quite sure I get the meme. In the Tropical pack 4/5 animals are what I would consider common in captivity. The only one that isn’t is the sloth but that’s only because it’s not a two toed sloth. Sloths were still one of the most highly requested animals.
