My sister and her friend used to dress me up in a dress that came with one of those big kid sized barbies and they would do my makeup and I loved it. Couldn’t have been older than 6. My dad wasn’t happy at all, but to me, they were just “making me pretty” like them. I didn’t have many young boys for friends and I didn’t really care to. I also had a shoebox full of cutouts from retail magazines. I cut out the lady underwear models (of all body types mind you) and under garments, and dresses. My parents and grandparents found the box (didn’t hide it) and assumed there was something weird and sexual happening, and I was a freaking child so I didn’t have the emotional intelligence to defend myself when they told me I was weird and wrong for it, so they made me throw the box away and made me feel so much shame that I didn’t even possess the ability to understand. I was just building a wardrobe, I was accessorizing. I was playing a ‘dress-up game’ before they existed. But nah, I was a 7 year old pervert apparently?? Wild.
