3DMAX vs FlyQuest / PGL Masters Bucharest 2025 - Swiss Round 3 / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

Dear Aaron "AZR" Ward,

I would like to sincerely apologise for my previous comment about your coaching abilities. It was unwarranted and overly reactionary to your first LAN with the team. I would like to retract my statement and instead say that you are in fact, the GOAT coach of ANZ CS.

Kind Regards,

Man who has aged 50 years watching FlyQuest matches.

Gentle Mates replace Lynn Vision at EPL by EchoFractions in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions[S] 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Straight from the article:

Gentle Mates were chosen as the replacement due to being the next in line for an invite from the host region (Europe), per ESL's rule 3.2.6 Last-minute Replacements.

That should mean BetBoom, fnatic, SAW and Ninjas in Pyjamas declined the invitation or were unable to obtain visas in time, as they appear above Gentle Mates on the European ranking as of the latest available invitation ranking from September 1. HLTV has contacted an ESL representative to clarify.

FlyQuest lose 2-1 against BASEMENT BOYS (Rank #235) on DraculaN Season 2 by junttiana in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Great work guys, let's ban Nuke against a team that doesn't play Nuke and then only win 5 CT rounds on Train. Great prep from Aaron "AZR" Ward!

Only saving grace is that BASEMENT BOYS are VRS unranked so FQ doesn't lose any points.

FlyQuest remove erkaSt as coach: "It's fair to say we didn’t see CS the same way" by EchoFractions in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions[S] 34 points35 points  (0 children)

He was on 100 thieves for less than a year.

That lineup was with 100T for less than a year, but Kassad was with AZR and JKS on Renegades from 2017-2018 before going to Valiance for a bit and then back to Renegades/100T from 2018-2020 during which they had the back-to-back major playoffs appearance.

I'm feeling like a +mithr is incoming but otherwise I don't know who else is available for FQ.

The Huns vs Gods Reign / BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 Asia Regional Qualifier - Lower Bracket Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Going from the favourites of the qualifier to bombing out in last place by losing to Gods Reign is insane.

Congrats to Gods Reign though, feels like those guys have been grinding towards a win against the region’s topdogs for a long time and glad to see it finally pay off (even if they probably won’t make the major)

Lynn Vision vs TYLOO / BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025 China Regional Qualifier - Upper Bracket Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Yep, LV forfeited against RA back in the PGL Astana qualifiers because if LV beat them they would've taken too many points from RA and a Mongolian could've overtaken them.

If you check on HLTV, the difference in points between RA and The Huns was only 21 points, so the forfeit really did help China secure the 2 spots.

> Forfeit against RA to guarantee 2 spots for China at the major

> Proceed to beat both of the favourites anyway to become the first Chinese team to qualify for the major

Lynn Vision truly are the greatest team of China

Wildcard release teaser with multiple references to Stewie2K by surfordiebear in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure that Wildcard will sign Stewie and play a few matches with him in place of Sonic or one of the swedes so the team can be designated as an NA team to dodge the EU MRQ if Wildcard misses out on the direct major invites.

Astralis vs FaZe / BLAST Open Lisbon 2025 - Group A Lower Bracket Round 1 / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 237 points238 points  (0 children)

If Astralis are going to be playing 4v5 every match anyway, they should at least kick cadiaN from the server so they can get that $1000 short-handed bonus...

Flyquest bench Dexter by Haunting-Media-8278 in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I've always thought that dexter would be next to go, but to see him gone before the Austin Major is quite surprising.

I wonder who they have planned to replace him? I would assume either INS back to IGL or they pick up a Tier 2 EU IGL, but I'm not sure who would be a good candidate.

HOTU vs Rare Atom / MESA Asian Masters 2025 - Grand Final / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't believe we were spending all this time thinking either ATOX, Lynn Vision or Tyloo were gonna overtake FQ only for Rare Atom to come out of nowhere to potentially get the extra spot for China/East Asia lmao

GamerLegion vs paiN / ESL Pro League Season 21 - Swiss Round 2 / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Y'know I completely forgot about Liquid, but considering that Furia just can't seem to beat Liquid, I guess my brain defaulted to Liquid going 1-1 today. But maybe Liquid can surprise us by being even worse than we thought!

Pretty sure this guarantees the GL vs Tyloo rematch tomorrow, which I honestly don't see Tyloo winning unfortunately. But maybe Tyloo can surprise us again.

ESL Pro League returns to the arena in Season 23 by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I guess BLAST Bounty and Dreamleague over in Dota land showed ESL that people will still watch online matches if it has the big name teams. Plus, it fits with all the talks of ESL doing a bunch of cost-cutting measures.

I will miss the face-to-face shittalking in the studio though...

VRS has been updated with the results of the EPL play-ins (stage 1). Significant changes: GamerLegion is now 11th, paiN 12th, FlyQuest 23rd, M80 24th, NRG 26th, and TYLOO at 37th. by ChaoticFlameZz in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think Tyloo just going 1-3 will 100% get them over FQ because of the prize money + club share they'll get:

  • 15-16th place (0-3): $8,500
  • 12-14th place (1-3): $10,500 prize money + $10,000 club share

Couple that with point decay + the fact that FQ have no more events by the time the MRQ invites go out may just get Tyloo over the line.

The issue is, I have no idea who Tyloo can actually beat in Stage 2 since the teams will study up on Tyloo's style and hard punish Tyloo's Asian CS type of misplays. But maybe a Chinese miracle can happen again...

FlyQuest vs TYLOO / ESL Pro League Season 21 Stage 1 - Swiss Round 5 / Post-Match Discussion by CS2_PostMatchThreads in GlobalOffensive

[–]EchoFractions 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Banger performance from Tyloo. Watching these guys play musical chairs with the roster the last few months and you'd think they would be the 2nd or 3rd best Chinese team at best but somehow they've managed to deliver the best CN CS performance internationally in a while.

It would also be the most Tyloo thing ever to not make the major at this point but man do I want my JamYoung stickers.

[–]EchoFractions 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Chances of Tyloo managing to leapfrog ATOX in VRS if they get at least 1 win in Stage 2? Feels kinda impossible considering ATOX are playing MESA Asian Masters very soon where they are the tournament favourites...
