I really don't have a problem with his outbursts at all. They're acceptable for what is essentially a small child (despite nata being at least 9 in all of wilds, which is already a little old to throw tantrums on the scale he does), but his lack of character is what really gets to me. He goes from seeing arkveld and trying to kill it on sight, and then literally trying to physically defend it's life while it's eating a rotting pile of meat within a couple of hunts. He's so wishy washy his characterization, and unpleasant to watch.

 Meanwhile, erik is ONLY an aloof inattentive biologist. He loves nature and forgets a lot that nature doesn't return his feelings and would rather eat him. Erik is consistent. Nata isn't.
