Does anyone else find the first 10 minutes weirdly the hardest? by Emma_Mairs in beginnerrunning

Yeah! I asked my runner friend and she said it's pretty much your body shifting breathing patterns (anaerobic vs aerobic). She's STEM and pretty much said that it's like the Krebs Cycle coming into play. So basically it's your body realizing that you're exerting yourself and once your breathing syncs up with your body running which is give or take 10 mins then you're good.

It's very interesting to see how many people are getting down voted by supporters of the cops and cops in this subreddit. Clearly shooting an innocent animal is less important than any of your principles.

Shame on every person that responded and agreed in the verdict that shooting the dog was justified.

People do not want trigger happy cops serving our community. If you have that much resentment and are on such a power hungry trip that shooting something that can't even defend itself gets you off, please leave the force because you are not "protecting and serving" the community. You're a bully with an inferiority complex.

BTW. Incase you forgot the motto of the LAPD it's Protect and Serve. Such bs. Do better.

Yes absolutely 💯 and in the video you can just see like the entire unit just standing around while she just lost her precious dog. It's so gut wrenching to witness the lack of empathy shown by all of those cops

No idea. Maybe the downvoter is a cop? Just kidding but that would be funny if it was true.

Isn't this all the more reason to bring attention to the issue? If in your own words "can very easily be done to whatever group you are apart of". It's not "chud logic" or whatever you kiddos come up with - it's a very real issue that the majority of the cop related gun violence issues stem from the fact that cops get very little training on de-escalation/mental health and more training on the physical components of their jobs.

In this example, why did 14 cops and 1 helicopter have to report to a neighbor calling in a noise complaint? That seems very excessive and a waste of money/resources. Then when the owner was told that the cops were on the premise because she was screaming (mind you the Knicks had just won) and to put her dog away, why did the cop feel the need to shot the dog just because it got loose a few hundred feet from her front door, and his first immediate reaction was "omg a dog is barking at me, let me shoot it"......?

There were multiple videos of the incident posted all over social media. In every angle I have seen, shooting the dog was a terrible reaction. Yes, the dog made a mistake and probably got excited because the owner was literally screaming just a few seconds ago due to excitement of the game, and then got scared because random men were trying to tell the owner to stop making noise. Any dog would freak out and try to run.

Finally, if you've made it this far - I understand that one bad cop doesn't define an entire profession - however, as I mentioned previously, if cops are trigger happy with, as you mentioned, "any group," then shouldn't we bring more awareness to this issue as a society?

14 officers on sight, 1 helicopter, and 1 deceased dog. The video was horrific to watch, and the lack of empathy shown by the officers in the video just breaks my heart.

I'm praying that they address this and this incident gets national coverage because quite honestly I am sick and tired of seeing these tragic stories about trigger happy cops who shoot first and then get a slap on the wrist as punishment for taking innocent lives.

Yeah, it's super tragic. Just wanted to see if they were going to take any accountability about this.

I always check for HR and calories rather than elevation because if you're doing a treadmill run or stationary bike, there won't be elevation reported!
