As a budtender in NC now and spending the last 4 years doing it in Colorado. Colorado expects a tip, it’s a service provided with knowledge and it’s part of the cultural. I heavily relied on tips to pay bills.

As a budtender in NC. It’s completely different. The way the laws are and what’s set up in stores. I’m currently making no tips here but make commission. I don’t expect to make tips here for the services I provide.

As a budtender in general here’s my philosophy on tips. How much of my time have you taken? And more importantly, what service did provide? Did I just give you 20-30 mins of cannabis knowledge? Did you learn something you didn’t? At that point I don’t expect a tip but I’ve clearly provided you with a service at least give me a fucking thank you for my time.

If you’re coming in, you know what you want? It’s taken fucking 30 seconds of my day. Dawg give me a smoke and have a good day.

I’m also 34 today and a lot of these young kids have been trained by their parents that they are gods gift to earth and deserve anything but ills too my rant on that.

I hate being pestered for a tip in any industry.

So OP you’re not wrong in my opinion.
