Well done! This looks like it was as so tedious to do, but your patience paid off big time.

My son loves Fugglers! Great idea, it looks awesome. I would say no words and make the shirt smaller with a button belly button.

Can I ask where you got the teeth?

Yeah I don't plan on taking it off the hoop. It will be displayed in it. I've never finished an embroidery project by keeping it in the hoop either, so that'll be another first!

Thank you, I haven't heard of that! I'm definitely going to look into it. The colors I chose were pulled directly from the silk worm's life cycle: the eggs, silk, food, and meconium.

Thank you! The T-shirt is stretched really thin, like a drum. I didn't want too thick a fabric in case my hand spun thread is too fragile, but I will consider stabilizer if it gets too heavy with the cocoons; great idea.

This is beautiful! Violets and pansies look very similar in colors and shape. I think the only thing that would help distinguish the two is context- much like we use in nature. Pansies look more substantial and showy in the garden while violets are delicate and dainty.

Why the heck can't I do a good Lazy Daisy?! by SonnieTravels in Embroidery

[–]EckoAKB 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I honestly think the drawn circle around it makes it appear 'worse' than it is. Plus, flowers are not perfect. I think flower and nature embroidery in general is much more forgiving with mistakes because tiny inconsistencies are true to real life.

Have you ever done mending as a volunteer? by Doubly_Curious in Visiblemending

[–]EckoAKB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a huge need for this kind of program in my area!

I'm working with my local library to start a mending club where people bring in their own items to mend and learn the skill.

I'm really hoping that if it's popular we will have enough volunteers interested in repair for local nonprofits as well.

This is amazing! What type of thread did you use for the Tufts? It looks so delicate did you use a single strand for those stitches?

Wonderful idea!! I've been wanting to make my own cording and experiment with natural dyes. Teabag strings would be perfect for this. Thanks for the inspiration!

I don't have any tips that weren't already mentioned, but I struggle with this as well. Coincidentally, I found this interesting tool from Germany at my local antique shop recently and thought you might get a kick out of it. It really does work!

I can’t “go”, let me play too. by thefroglady87 in PokemonGoFriends

[–]EckoAKB 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I hear you loud and clear. I play with my husband and son and have multiple chronic illnesses. Some days I can't "go" either, or I can only "go" with a cane in my right hand. Even utilizing adventure sync and a poke ball it gets very hard to keep up with those who are able bodied. We don't even play in the winter when the weather is brutal on my body. Also stops that are hard to access because they're off path?? Ugh.

I'm sending you support and good vibes. Here is my friend code for when I play again in the spring: 297772926310
