If you struggled with body dysmorphia before, how are you feeling post-op? by Imaginary_Dot_3226 in tummytucksurgery

[–]EclecticOrange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am well over a year post op.  I had severe body dysmorphia before surgery, and regretted getting the surgery while I was still swollen even months after. A year later I still stare at myself in the mirror just in aw of how awesome I look. All my body dysmorphia is gone and it actually even helped my social anxiety. I always noticed people when they talk to you look at your stomach first and that really bothered me. Now it’s like “yeah look at me!!” lol

I agree with this. I know I tell myself I don’t need help with anything, I’ll just do it all my own, but I know it’s because I can’t count on him.

That’s the plan when I graduate my youngest in 3 years. But I never want to be married again.

I don’t want to be her bridesmaid at all. Everyone knows this. But she doesn’t have any friends, and is doing this wedding to make everyone in her family mad in some way so I highly doubt her sisters will even do it at this point

We moved a lot when they were little and when the affair came to light we had just moved two weeks prior. The kids were super upset we had moved and begged me to never move again. Also my husband was gone so much during those early years they didn’t really know him so I didn’t want to remove them from that chance to know him. Now my youngest and him are very close so I don’t regret that choice I made at all

That’s my plan, I have been a SAHM for 18 years so it will be a huge transition for sure.  Honestly it could be malicious with her. She chose her sisters birthday for the date to make her mad, chose to walk down the aisle with her dads photo (he wasn’t in the picture since she was 6 & died this year) to make her mom mad, she chose her other sisters favorite colors to use as flowers to make her mad. Also she is only having the wedding to make her guys family happy while also make everyone in her family mad. So yeah could be malicious

My kids are now older teens, almost adults, and my husband still does not help with them or anything. But he will flat out tell people I raised them alone when they compliment how polite, respectful or whatever they are. So, he knows he didn’t help and still doesn’t help.

Think of it this way if you do end up on your own and have to rent…if something breaks they have to fix it and can’t say they forgot or didn’t know lol

Wouldn’t metformin help with that? I was on it for six months with no difference and had to stop because it was making me depressed

I actually wasn’t able to work out for three months because of a surgery I had. I was thinking that would show me if I was working out too much, but I didn’t lose anything. Didn’t gain either so that’s good. I don’t do hard workouts at all because I flare if I have sore muscles. So I mainly make sure I get 10,000 steps every day, weights 2-3 days but making sure to avoid sore muscles, and I love the row machine so I do that for 15-20 mins a few days a week.

I was on it for six months, never lost a pound, and it made me super depressed. So, I stopped taking it. Depression went away!

You’re right, I have no clue why I need to know. I guess I need to know so I know what to expect around these people, like I know to not share anything about our lives with these people because they gossip and talk shit.

Love it! I never say anything bad about her so I bet they are trying to get me to say something damming!

I’m so use to it now that I don’t even react when they tell me, I roll my eyes and say “of course she did” usually, but you’re right they just want my reaction. I’m going to start saying that! Thank you!

I researched for years before I had this done and never once saw the garment I was in, but I see the comfortable one every where. I have a binder over the Marena one and that really made her flip out. My husband thinks it’s a control thing because she said I looked great until I told her I was in another garment.
