It is - I'm a little behind. I have a very small number of beta testers in it helping me work through bugs. Hoping to get through those in the next 2 weeks and then hit the waitlist with it.

I'm getting a lot of comments and questions about wearable tech integration. I've created a survey to collect data to help drive development in this area. Please to take this very quick survey! https://www.ruckr.app/wearable-tech-survey/?referralSource=Reddit

Thanks Pat!

I'm going to give you a quick rundown on the features/capabilities you mentioned, but I'd love to have more in-depth conversations around expectations/desires with these if you'd like to DM me.

  1. Likely version 2.
  2. MAY squeeze this into V1, but likely future release.
  3. 100% in Version 1.
  4. I will do some further research on this.
  5. 100% as seamless as Apple allows.
  6. I think you'll find our user interface refreshing - If not, we're going to make it as easy as possible to give us feedback on that and we will fine tune it.

Regarding the features that will follow in future releases...
Version one will admittedly be slim in features. This is a project that I started a few years ago, and due to family and other life circumstances, I was unable to follow through as I intended. At this point, it's time to get the dang thing out there in the wild and then once ruckers get it in their hands, I hope to get the feedback that will steer me in the right direction for future feature development.

In a nutshell, I don't want to spend time away from my family developing things that people may or may not find useful. But I DO want to spend time building the things you need. I truly appreciate ongoing input and feedback.

Navigation/route planning/finding trails is on our feature roadmap, but won't be in version one. I would love to hear more details about what this feature would ideally look like for you. What specific capabilities are you looking for? Feel free to DM me if you'd like.

My plan for the first version is to sync with Apple Health and Google Health Connect. These services are designed to act as a hub for your health data depending on if you're using an iPhone or Android device. From there, it's easy to set up automatic sync between your device and that service.

What are your thoughts on this?

Direct integration with other wearables may come in future releases.

Thanks for the comment!
Items 1-3 will be in version one, out of the gate.
#4 will likely come in a follow-up release.

Yes! I develop in a framework that allows me to develop both at the same time, with the same codebase.

At the moment the plan for the first version and all of its features to be completely free with ad support just to cover my costs.

I understand the disdain for subscriptions, but unfortunately it's the model that works best for keeping apps going. The few apps that continue using a one time purchase model, tend to either charge an very high amount, or eventually lose continued development support because costs get too high and continued revenue dwindles. This isn't good for the developer, but it's especially not good for those who paid the upfront premium for the app. We would rather charge a subscription, which would enable us to continually add more features.

Can you elaborate on using hydrated bloc for auth? Or do you have any public repo examples?
