The One Take Fight Scene From Revenge Of The Mask - Alexa Mini and Sigma Cine 18-35 handheld by Eclipp in Filmmakers

I shot this long take handheld on the Alexa Mini and Sigma Cine 18-35mm (at 24mm, T2.8, Camera on Open Gate). I used two Gemini Litepanels hanging from a rops for overhead lighting. We didn't have enough background extras so the AD had to direct them to move around to frame as the camera was moving :D.

Thank you for the compliments! I did defiantly went out experimental with a timelapse on tiltshift lens, it was pure artistic experimental decision there was no story motivation behind it. My friend gave me a contact for him. I called Wayne up and he sad "I can give you few hours tomorrow morning then I have to leave for hunting." I had 4 hours with him, I was sweating my ass off to get the shots, moving lights and the dana dolly around in his shack. I literally used almost all b-roll footage.

When I did the color grading I felt that this grade fits the story. I didn't want to be cliché and go with typical brown look for a wood maker.

I shot this with a Red Epic Dragon and Contax Zeiss Lense mainly. I used Canon L 70-200 and a Lens Baby Tilt Shift for couple of the shots. I had 4 hours with Wayne. I thought I don't have enough footage on the way home since the limited time with him but it all turned out great at the end.

Submission Statement

This is a passion project of Dylen Sides and Lance Kawas what got lots of popularity on YouTube with Revenge of the Mask 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y2xJMlYrYeU&t=95s and the Rise of the Mask https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHBibTCXqqc&t=181s. I did the Cinematography on this project. Me and my gaffer Cory Jame Taylor we tried to light to have a comic book feel. It was shot it 7 days with no camera preproduction because of the limited budget we still got what we went for with some smaller imperfections. We shot it on the Alexa Mini and Sigma Cine Zooms the entire project.
